Exactly! At least Hodges was 6’2 and could jump. I was concerned with his speed too but that was the only thing. 26.5 Vert isn’t that good. I have to watch his film because those measurements are concerning. But he’s a 4star.

He’s a JUNIOR. Maybe the staff is looking to build some ties up there. A very good idea ,imo.

Why get crazy about this now? It’s so far out and it’s only an offer

OOS kid who would likely have to hit campus and camp even for the staff to really take him seriously. People just ***** to ***** half of the time.

Not crazy about it yet your possibly right. I'm sure they will recruit or try to recruit the elites and have fall back options on the table.

LCE started a thread on him previously. Just look at the film. Youll see he is more athletic than those numbers. Kid is a baller, a dog from Camden, NJ, 4*, and a Miami offer means something to these kids.

4 star this early is meaningless. His numbers - if accurate - tell you what kind of prospect he is.
 
LCE (I believe it was LCE) posted about him and another Camden kid last month. Along with their highlights...If you scroll back a few pages you can watch his tape.
 
Screams James Lewis. Not just the NJ connection. Kid is hard nosed DB. He can get faster. Football instincts can’t be taught. The staff has time to continue eval. I don’t mind this.

No I totally agree with you. I don’t know why he’s a4 star but after watching his film he knows the game but I do think in order to be a 4 or 5 star your athleticism and physical measurements should be above average with good production. Some kids are just good high school players or g5/FCS or D2 talents.

I don’t know about shuttle times, but I’ like him just for his name -Duce Chestnut, great name. Besides, if he commits and he isn’t all that good we could just let him go later. It’s called “dropping a Duce.”

exactly.

be very cautious and skeptical when it comes to reported numbers like this, especially when it's early in the kid's HS career.

for the most part, the numbers can make about as much sense as your average congressman or fundamentalist preacher. (in other words, not much)

I doubt it's committable at this time...But yeah sometimes I honestly don't think Rumph knows what the **** he is doing or knows how to create a recruiting "board" at his position...**** it's mind november now and besides Clarke it's like he still doesn't know who he wants/doesn't want.
