Greg Rousseau. Missed almost his entire true freshman year because of injury, played limited snaps early in his RS freshman season before the coaches had no choice but start him, and then opted out of the covid season. His UM bio says he started 7 games. Not much for a guy who was a freak from the time he got on campus and became a 1st rounder.

How does that make him underused though? Hurt one year… opts out another? If your assertion is that we didn’t get what we potentially could have gotten from him I’d agree but that isn’t because coaches were ******** him over or didn’t see the value.

If you go by college usage/production vs NFL production, it's probably Gus Edwards.

Played here 3 seasons, had a TOTAL of 186 carries.

He had 184 in his one season at Rutgers, and has now been in the NFL for 7 seasons (only played in 6 after blowing out his knee and missing all of 2021), and has 30 TDs with 4 seasons of 700+ yards.

He averaged 5.0+ per carry in each of his first 4 years.

This board hated him more than Dee Wiggins.

My vote is for Jeff Thomas. We could have schemed so many more ways to get the ball into his hands and we just didn't.

You took my answer. Barely got any reps at WR and was moved to CB his last year to help the defense out. Became all pro NFL player.

He became the starting RB for a while and was otherwise behind Lamar Miller. He got plenty of carries.

I meant it more from the perspective of not getting a lot of use out of him, not so much about the coaching decisions. I thought he was a little underused at the beginning of his RS fresh season but that was obviously the only time he was available and not playing as much as he could have been.
