Unable to adjust and game plan correctly is what I see.

Don't believe there is a single issue, I believe its multiple issues.

Lack of communication/not knowing assignments Even in Cuse game when they motioned or had bunch sets you see our secondary look confused as multiple people waving their hands or motioning to come over and no one moves. This was game 12 of our season and it was still happening. Another example is the one play from the Cuse game where we had 3 or 4 guys covering one in route, leaving OJ one on one with their receiver for a long pass. Harris is flat-footed staring at the crosser while Cuse receiver runs by him
Then when Cuse went heavy on the goal line with their jumbo set and ran it off tackle for a TD, not one player slid down or made an adjustment.

Poor Tackling/Lack of Physicality - Example - Knowing Cuse is gonna run the clock out and our players getting pushed back and or hitting the back and then getting dragged for extra yards. Not many of our guys have stopping power.

Stunts/Scheme - As we've talked in nauseam about the stunting and getting out leveraged. Too many **** times are we out of position because we are running stunts with our DL. Our ends were supposed to be our strong point on this defense, let them work and get to the QB/contain the edge.

Guys constantly out of position. no gap integrity, everyone trying to be a hero, #7 sucks, #1 can't cover yet in game 12, Allen motioned out wide from the backfield and who follows, #1, who didn't see that 25 yards coming? Constantly out schemed, and plain as day the players either freelanced all game, or had no clue what to do.

1. Why did so many on here like Guidry last year? What changed from last year to this year? Did he suddenly become that much worse? Or was he overrated last year?
2. Otherwise:
A. Secondary talent isn’t very good or the good ones we have are brand new and emerging or injured.
B. Lb coaching was not as good. These guys didn’t look like they developed. Did we literally miss on that many prospects recruiting?
C. Jason Taylor, while a handsome face, hall of fame DE, and good recruiter…..is he still too raw as an actual coach? The defensive ends looked poorly coached.

Guys look and play faster when they know their assignment really well. Granted there’s a few personnel issues that need to be addressed.

im not so sure ALL of the kids are slow. I think some are in their own heads. But yeah, we need speed. I think Lightfoot and Elias Rudolph will bring that as well as Scott. Pruitt seems to have it but we need speed overall. we get roasted by guys who are slow.

Coaching. We looked like the worst defense in the country multiple games this year. Miami has athletes to at minimum be a mid level defense yet we find ourselves at the bottom. Good coaching improves results. Bad coaching decreases results. The numbers speak for themselves.

Thankfully Kiko and Meesh will be leaving. Jaden is a good character guy, but he needs to be playing in mop up duty. I’m still not that high on Wes either. We definitely need a few guys, but poor coaching has made the lack of talent more evident.

Seems like a total lack of communication and understanding of what is going on around them. Everyone can see that they are completely lost at times.
