Players holding themselves accountable for their mental lapses.

I see it so differently from the majority of the board because I actually know plays & know Defensive calls. So when a big plays happen I identified almost immediately where the mistake was made & which player didn't follow his assignment.

People won't see it until next season, but yall really don't get how undisciplined & downright dumb our Defense played this year.

I get it, we gotta hang Guidry in the town square & put all on the blame on him, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but like 80-90% of the issues on Defense were player mistakes.

spot on - the other is the talent gap, that has to be filled. And let’s not kid ourselves, we had injuries that played a role in Guidry being handcuffed. I don’t think the answer is to “fire everyone and everything” that sets programs back.

I tend to agree with this assessment.
Guidry had a pretty strong defense at Marshall.
Did he, all of a sudden, become incompetent?

Similarly, it is amazing how Phil Longo forgot to run an offense after he no longer had Howell or Mayes.

Frederique looked like **** against Syracuse. I'm not sold.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but we missed Jadais Richards against Cuse. Out of all our corners his size and length (double pause) had best chance alone outside against Meeks.

Defensive coordinator. No way our defense should've been this bad. Without Cam we lose 6-7 games. And the talent wasn't that bad.

That's on the coaches. We got worse as the season went on.

I loved Guidry last year, but he has to go. He was a catastrophic failure this year.

I want a DC that will just have us playing sound defence. I don't need the Steel Curtain.

How often did we get pressure off those stunts (when we got lucky and it wasn't a run play to the edge of stunting side)? I have a foggy memory of Barrow getting a sack on one earlier in the season but nothing after that.
