DAILY DEBATE: Predict Carson Beck’s stats

I’ll answer post Spring portal.

How can this not be the right response, lol?

Assuming Beck returns to form and we have no major injuries on offense...

If we land a WR as good or better than Isaiah Horton, and a second quality WR for depth purposes, I think Beck hits his 2023 Georgia numbers 302/417 for 3941 Yards, 24 TDs v 6 Interceptions

If we have the current personnel, just look to UGA 2023 -- 290/448/3485/28/12... though I'd expect less passing TDs.

Honestly the only number that REALLY matters is Total turnovers and TD rate for Beck this season. The last 2 seasons at UGA he averaged 592/865=68.4%; 3,713 yards; 26Tds:9INTs=2.89TD:INT; 8.85 Adjusted Y/A; 6.01% TD%; 2.08% INT%.

So If say he had anywhere from 3,300-3,700 yards, 24-30TDs with a TD% >6%, and an INT total <9 and INT% <2%, and an adjusted Y/A >8.5.... I think that'd be excellent. I think we are going to run the ball a LOT at the goalline/inside the redzone so some TDs will certainly be sniped. The most important thing is significantly cutting down his mistakes so he returns closer to 2023 form in that department where he only had 6 INTs and a 1.4 INT%. If he gets close to that this offense will be killer. But <2% is a must imo.

This was my official Cam Ward projection in August of last year:

244/372 (65.6%) for 3,162 yards (8.5 YPA) with 32 TDs and 6 INTs

207 yards rushing with 6 TDs

His actual numbers:

293/435 (67.3%) for 4,123 yards (9.5 YPA) with 36 TDs and 7 INTs

196 yards rushing with 4 TDs

Not too shabby. We threw it more than I could have imagined, and I thought I was being pretty bullish pre-season. Too much Maribro ball on the brain, I suppose.

I will wait and see if we add any offensive talent in the spring portal, but I think Beck can absolutely replicate the numbers I had for Cam before the 2024 season.

Splitting the difference between Carson Becks best season and Clayton Tunes final season...

Over 70% passer
Well be more run heavy than that Houston team...but I'll say 3700 yards
35 TD
8 INT
Probably a YPA around 9.

But better than Clayton Tunes season is on the table. (Looking back...Tune was throwing to Tank Dell, Matthew Golden, Sam Brown, and KeSean Carter...sheesh)
