D$ and Lu

This is a serious concern and you guys saw my reaction yesterday. Look forward to more opinions and discussions as to what's the best solution. I realize people get riled up after a loss, but yesterday was an entirely crazy swing of nonsense. It seemed impossible for any football to be discussed yesterday.

Move the "offending posts" to the WEZ?

Don't **** up the WEZ ... Create a tard board, call it potato, and move the stupid there. They can continue to be stupid with padded walls, with other tards ...

Under what most folks would consider normal circumstances, I'm rational, sane, and prudent.

But after games like yesterday? Full-on batschitt/off-the-chain, berserk. My bad, just the way it happens.

Today? Aggravated and confused as to why certain things continue - CONTINUE - to occur.

But I come here, NOT to hold hands with others, or pat each other on the back in reassurance - I come here to see if I'm the only one seeing these things, feeling these things, and find out if there's any light at the end of the tunnel.

If someone is so offended by post-game furor, then maybe they need to take a day or two off so their delicate sensitivities aren't touched upon.

+1000. This place used to be great because we actually got to discuss football. Now it's full over over emotional posters that don't understand football. That and a ton of trolling.

its really only bad on gameday mostly. dont see it as a major problem. everyone was upset. **** i was spazzing out for like 3 hours after the game ask cuse2miami26 or whatever it was but after really just cooling down watching bama lose you go back to normal and realize this loss isnt any different from the other games we just didnt come out w it. sure we should have won and not had a mental breakdown but it is what it is. were a bad team that easily could have been how do u think gt fans felt when they lost that game to us. same situation diff team

Not even talking about the difference in the opinions. That's cool by me and is the whole point of this place.

But can we all agree the vast majority posters that have come over from Canesport and Grassy the last few months have decreased the quality of the board? I think that is something that really should be looked at.

Here and the recruiting board.

Just neg into oblivion. Too many negs and you're gone.

I'm with the OP. I try to stay as unbiased as possible about some of these posters but do we really have the most retarded fans in the nation? Yesterday was ridiculous. I purposely avoided going on the board because I knew what people would be posting and when I finally gave in and came on here I was shocked to see it was worse than what I expected. People want to come on here and talk football and have knowledgeable discussions. We don't want to read every post getting attacked and people calling for the whole football program to be fired after a loss that shouldn't surprise anyone. It's gotten out of control and personally I find it hard to come around here these days. There's a ton of great posters on this site and I don't know what's happened.

They've talked about that but it's not practical imo. It will get abused badly.

Agreed. Example, I liked someone's post and then get a notification that I have negative feedback with the reason being: "dont support Aziz,******."

I don't care that I got negative feedback, but if you start using feedback as a way to control access, people will just neg those they disagree with (even more so than they already do).

Maybe an admin could review the causes for the neg reps and administer a ban himself.

Solution: Shut down the board on game day until the behavior improves. Unless things get better people will continue to avoid using this forum and instead use the WeZ.

Problem is, even good posters go full ****** on gameday...especially after a loss.

another problem is that a mod (whose name i will not mention) is one of those going full ******, deletes posts that oppose his views, and somehow retains his mod status.

I don't know about the deleting posts thing, but I think it's important that moderators keep their cool and try to refrain from voicing their opinions as much. Posters/readers assume that moderator posts are from a "more knowledgeable" person (not that they aren't), so they need to set the tone of the board and should simply support the program, stick to the facts, and try to stay professional if they want to keep things under control.

Premium boards are a boon to unwarranted arrogance. Posters who pay up suddenly believe their opinion is more valuable or astute than non-payers. You get obscene amounts of class warfare, with pay members deriding the free board with labels like "Zoo" or similar.

I've yet to see a good example. On several sites I've been voted into the premium board but seldom participated. One or two peeks and it's not the type of crowd I want anything to do with.

In fact, it reminds me of Las Vegas sportsbooks where the fun and the great debate is where the small bettors hang out, not the reserved sections with the stuffy whales. In Las Vegas I'm one of the few who is welcome in either area but I always prefer the parlay crowd where you never know what will happen next. More stories to tell.

And yeah, that one moderator is hard to figure, not what he says or what he zaps but how he keeps the role. If I were filling out a survey of this site, that would come to mind first.

Lock the football board after losses and implement a full ****** board where we can all go lose our minds. That part of it isn't changing.

I've also heard rumblings of all positive boards whcih you could look into

I've asked before, gonna say it again. It's time to start a premium board.

An idea, just came to me as I type this, is that we upgrade good free posters without a charge. That way young bucks with decent insight or cats without dough to spend here can be involved.

It's time boys. Love what you're doing, but real posters don't have time for bull**** like this after losses.

You both know it. Do what needs to be done.

Just because it's premium doesn't mean that they will stop posting those ridiculous posts. Yes if it's premium there will be less crazy posts, but there will also be less posts and less people joining in the future. Most of the content on this board is user generated. Now if they used to proceeds to hire someone to be a part time professional moderator it will help but it doesn't necessarily need to become premium for that to happen. Another solution would be to upgrade a few more users into the equivalent of hallway patrol and have them remove posts but this comes with the baggage of the person who has been upgraded to semi-deity status on the board and would require an overview process.

The easiest solution is to change the culture of the board. There is a select few who constantly barrage without contributing and they simply circle-jerk their arguments. There's a report button, when you see this CLICK IT. It'll help the mods a lot

Here's what I do these days.

Don't drink for day games. For night games, not to excess.

Once the game is over, turn off the tv and the laptop. Go do something productive. If it's an early game, go for a walk, hike, or bike ride. If it's a night game, just go to bed.

On Saturday I felt ****** before my 4.5 mile fast hike. I felt fine after.

I'm not saying I like losing to ******* Mike London every year. On the other hand, life does have to go on.
