Seems like we're working from a different definition of what compete means. Compete doesn't necessarily mean 'win'. It means to be competitive in a matchup - to be in the game, have a chance. You're going to have a difficult time convincing me, or I would venture to guess most, that we can't compete with Va., Va.Tech, GT, Syr., BC, Duke - even if dinged. The next tier up, below Clemson - we still shouldn't be boat raced except perhaps on occasion, IF properly managed.
Most observers rightfully question how well the '22 team was coached. Let's hope it doesn't become a trend. Just don't think it's fair to write off competitiveness (in most cases) due to lack of depth - even if razor thin. Other programs face similar challenges. The Wakes of the world can't 'Out Jimmy & Joe' their opponent, so they 'Out X & O' them on at least a semi-regular basis. We know that clearly Mario is in the talent acquisition business, but bring the same energy to scheming and putting the team you have in a position to win that you do to pointing out talent deficiencies.
