There's a lot of good football over in SW FL/ Suncoast. Ohio State knows where Immokalee is, they've pulled some gems out under the radar. Immokalee's location keeps their good players more in place - they don't get poached like in Lee or Sarasota County schools by whoever has the hot hand. Charlotte has owned Ft Myers the last 20 years, but seldom has the horses for a complete team after the Regional level. I think the athletes are around for Miami - they just have to not be stuck in Miami / Dade and get out and beat the bushes a bit more.

Yeah broke my heart that our stud MLB that year from Charlotte who beat Jammi's (Florida's first Mr Football) team on a Fumblerooskie, Todd Rebol, went and started for the Noles for four years.

Jammi went to Ft Myers High....so did Taylor Timmons....I went to North Ft Myers High class of 1978....Deion....Warren Williams...Noel Devine and Jevon Kearse are other alum...

They send some of course, but not enough, you dont even want to look at a list of STA kids that went elsewhere.

I want them straight too may man, for sure. But I want a better pipeline to the greatest HS talent in the Nation 30 miles away as well. To me that is obvious.... I hear you now though and get what you are saying. :fistbump:

Yeah that's right think you mentioned it before. Ron Hoover was still there, right? We played the first-ever Turkey Bowl on Thanksgiving Day in SW FL for the district title in 1970 in NFM. Had a nephew play against Deion, and my two youngest sons played against The Devine One. We had a washout, Mike Bellamy (Sporting Magazines HS Athlete of the year in 2010), first touch with Clemson 75 yard TD, then got in some trouble with "team rules."

Yeah Coach Hoover was my HC from 75-78
Bob Hildebrand was the OC...Tom Gorton the DC....
