Countdown: Top Cane Producing High Schools

I’ve always liked guys from Carol City and particularly have felt they’ve always played hard and out performed their rating.

I’ve also felt the opposite with kids from Booker T. They just seem to never live up to their ranking.

LCE, outside of try-county...Is Immokalee the best in state school? Who else besides Edge and JJ?
No I wouldn't say Immokalee is, although they've had some good talent.

Depends on which region you're talking, if you go North of PB the Jensen Beach, PSL, Fort Pierce, Vero Beach have always produced talented football player. If you go west of Belle Glade, Clewiston, Fort Myers & Naples would probably be high up,in the discussion.

If you're talking Central & Northern Fla then there's dozens & dozens of schools throughout that fit the bill.

I was talking kids who went to Miami specifically...I thought that's what you referred to in you post that Immokalee should be an honorable mention.

So I guess my question is, going along with the article, which 1-3 non tri-county high schools have the best history of seeing productive Canes to UM.

Thoughts? Who’s too high? Too low?

First off, somebody must be a Chief, no way are they "1 over the Bulls, I'll let you do the Honors, but somebody on that bulls roster needs to be replaced by one brett perriman, and is their any room for tolbert bain. This is a good look, and I appreciate this thread but is no way that #5, a list with darryl sharpton on it is going to be ranked higher than #6 or 7, that norland 4 and Miami senior high list are no jokes, "downtown Eddie brown". Also, No list with SEAN TAYLOR on it should only get Honorable mention. If you add bobby harden to piper's list they should be ranked! Those are just a few suggestions for now!

Oh my bad I thought you meant in general lol.

In that case, probably Immokalee with Albert Bentley, Edge & Javarris James, Apopka with Warren Sapp & Brandon Meriweather, Vero Beach with James Stewart, Kenny Holmes, Pat Bethel & Jahfari Harvey, Evans in Orlando with Horace Copeland, Kenard Lang & Leon Searcy, maybe Suwannee with Kelly Jennings & Bruce Johnson.

There's others I can't think of right now.

Not really, they've never been a school that consistently sent players to UM.
No, considering how close we are we have lost a ton of STA kids to other Power 5 schools. They need to be our #1 pipeline school, they have more NFL players than any HS and are 30 miles away.

They send some of course, but not enough, you dont even want to look at a list of STA kids that went elsewhere.

I know it's not South Florida but Merritt Island HS has been fruitful as well.
Bubba McDowell
Darell Spencer
Hurley Brown
And Eric Hamm
All went to the U.
Eric may have been the best of the bunch if it wasn't for an injury. I never understood why we stopped recruiting at that school.

Go Canes!!

It was extremely tough to not include them, especially with Edge going there.
Uh, what about Hialeah High. Granted I can only think of one, but the one is GOAT The Mad Stork. Edge certainly is special and one of my all time favorites, but Ted is his own league with only Ed Reed and ST worthy of inclusion. That said, I grew up in CC and proud to see NUMBER 1.

There's a lot of good football over in SW FL/ Suncoast. Ohio State knows where Immokalee is, they've pulled some gems out under the radar. Immokalee's location keeps their good players more in place - they don't get poached like in Lee or Sarasota County schools by whoever has the hot hand. Charlotte has owned Ft Myers the last 20 years, but seldom has the horses for a complete team after the Regional level. I think the athletes are around for Miami - they just have to not be stuck in Miami / Dade and get out and beat the bushes a bit more.
