I agree with you here. I feel much better about our situation than I did last year but we still need more depth to at least insure us against injuries. Blay, Scott, Moten and Horton(his development is critical) could be a good to very good top 4. Now if we can get anything from Jones and Simpson then we are in a good place compared to last year. That top 4 has a very good ceiling in terms of potential productivity but we would need Moten to take the next step and for Horton to show he is who we thought he could be. Obviously Blay would need to have a great year and Scott would need to have a breakout type year.

We need to go get at least 1 in the portal and not a warm body but a player. Generally speaking, our DT recruiting really needs to improve drastically. We can't just sign a pair like Scott and Jones then take the next two years off. We need to pull DTs every cycle! It's thr only way to get to where we want to go.

This. If all the guys people talk about stay healthy, we could get by w/o adding anyone. But the chances of that happening aren't high. Injuries happen.

And counting on Horton is foolish. The poor kid has hardly ever been healthy. Anything we get out of him is a bonus.

Totally understandable concern. It's up to our coaches to uncover transfers better than Gore, Deen and Clark. If they could do it with Lucas, they can do it at DT. ... This is the same challenge as we have for WR and LB. They need to find a way.
