Cornerback against Pittsburgh

We'll have two of our top 3 corners. We don't play predominantly Nickel anyway and, if/when we do, we can slide in a Safety like Rodgers or Bush into some of the spots someone like Burns would have played. Burns may still play either way.

At some point, for all the psychology and all the pillar stuff, I'd prefer to see us take the perspective of so many other teams in so many different leagues and levels:

WE HAVE ENOUGH TO DO THE JOB.

Golden State (basketball) was missing a bunch of guys recently. When asked about depth issues and obvious impact of "playing without the main guys," their coach said they had enough to do the job and talked about how their team would dig in. Last year, the Chicago Bulls played in the playoffs with basically a D-League team. Their coach repeatedly said "we have enough to win." Somewhere along the line, the D-League-like guys started believing in that crap and grinded out a bunch of surprising wins. What did they say when asked about their decimated team? "We got enough."

The reality is we're basically the best day for nearly every offense we play, so corner shortage or not, it'd be awesome to see the team to live out (in actions) the theme (in words) they created for themselves:

WE ALL WE GOT. WE ALL WE NEED.

Savage is awful. Pitt fans hate him with a passion. The things they say about him would make Stephen Morris' biggest critics blush. Devin Street and Tyler Boyd are amazing.

Same thing Vag Tech fans were saying about Logan Heisman before he went Dr. Deep Plunge on us. He won't need to be very pinpoint if Street and Boyd don't have anyone covering them all day.
Exactly. If we do not put pressure on him he will find open receivers and pick us apart.

We're really going to miss Dortch and Elder. Those guys have been locking **** down all year.

They would have been first in line to step in for Gunter since Burns is banged up.

As it stands, we have Howard, Crawford and guys who have never played.

They'd move Rodgers to corner before they'd ever put Dortch out there in this game.

Doesn't change the point being made...we are at depleted at the CB position this week.

Ok. So what. Pitt's depleted everywhere.

Pitt's QB is awful. They have one reciever and that's it.

They wouldn't be 3-4 in the Coastal if they didn't totally suck.

They beat Duke.

So what? Duke wouldn't win a game in any other BCS conference, and will be down by 50+ at halftime against FSU.

Beating Duke may have been Shannon's claim to fame, but just because we can't beat them doesn't make them good, and because Pitt beat them doesn't make Pitt good

You know some cultures consider suicide an honorable act.

What does this have to do with Shannon? You said Pitt would be 3 - 4 in the Coastal yet they beat the team that steam rolled us just 2 weeks ago and is on the verge of winning the Coastal division. Pitt is not a great team by any stretch but neither are we. If you think Pitt is going to be an easy win for us you are going to kidding yourself.

Can't be true. I don't believe you. Miami fans are the only bad fans in the nation. Someone said it on here twice, so it's true.

Passionate fans a frenetic, someone might want to check the gatorbait, can only imagine how their fans are reacting, they mad!

UM may have a bigger problem than lack of CB's. Pitt's NT Aarron Donald is a beast and McDermott will need help with him all day, an for some reason Kehoe/Coley often don't double the nose, but rather pull the OG, which often leads to the NT making a tackle for loss on the play. I hope they can get this corrected.

Don't know a thing about him. Is he a 0 or a 1 technique NT?

I follow a lot of Pittsburgh area sports writers and fans on twitter because of other sports. Every Saturday this season my timeline is littered with "**** Savage", "Savage sucks", "Graduate Already", type stuff.

Golden mentioned last week on Hurricane Hotline that Jamal Carter would be the kick return guy vs UVA and should see significant PT in the defensive backfield vs PITT. Personally I'd love to see him and Bush at safety with Tracy and Antonio at CB. That leaves Jenkins as your nickle. We need experience at the nickle position. Of course this is with the idea of Burns missing the PITT game with his injury.
