Corn Elder

I would like to see him return kicks and punts

As do I. The only problem is that he'd have to take a number and get in line. The dude has all the tools, but Duke, A. Crawford, Coley, Burns and Dorsett will be ahead of him IMO.

Why would Coley and Burns be ahead of him? It would be great to add another dynamic kick returner to the Mix so Duke doesn't have that duty as well.

Just going based off Coley and Burns' highlights dude. And I am all for keeping Duke off of return duties. Only time I would put Duke back deep is if we are down and need a big return. But I think with the guys we have now, plus the incoming class, I think he might get a handful of attempts. The old redshirt would be the best maneuver IMO. All speculation at this point obviously. Just giving my 2 cents.

Larry, I've seen him play 5x in 2 years. Against really good talent. He's the real deal. He's just lacking size. Don't knock the State of Tennessee's talent

I hope you are correct but history says Larry brings a good POV to the table. Kid looks electric though no doubt.
Larry would be incorrect on this one. No disrespect but Corn is very good! Another one for 2014 we aren't recruiting very hard right now is Rashaan Gaulden (S) from Independence HS here in TN. Originally from Miami and is a Deon Bush clone!

Name the last back from the state of Tennessee that would register above the term "average".

I'm holding off on crowning the Corncob...I'm hesitant on giving a crown to a Tennessee running back. The studs are few and far between and even the studs aren't that good. So, I've got my reservation...but willing to be surprised. He looks good on tape...ridiculous, actually...but...its Tennessee.

Graig Copper on line 1 for you about the quality of Tennessee RB's

Nevermind, he tripped over the phone cord and got disconnected.

Too bad it was a cordless phone.

Agreed Cash...have this much depth is a good thing. We'll find a place to get him on the field. And the Spring depth chart rarely is the final depth at the end of the season.

Lol look at the good part, we have a legit 4 deep at kick / punt return

smh Larry gon Larry.... buddy get over this Florida football b.s... you all are not the only guys at the top of the hill anymore. Corn Elder looks better then most of the RB recruits you were drooling over from S. Florida last year.... like Alex Collins and Darius Tice. smh

This guy acts like every kid from S. Florida is a cant miss 5 star prospect while it's a shot in the dark if you are from another state. How about this compare 5 star Jabril Peppers to 5 star T. Howard.... lol

From now on, we should only recruit RBs from Kansas because that state produced Gayle Sayers and Barry Sanders.

I'm glad you took the time out to answer the posted question.

However, excuse me for not issuing a crown out to an OOS skill position kids from less than desirable football regions. I mean, as we've seen before, these types of kids are always smashing successes here at UM.

I'm not saying he's a bum...but in this thread I've seen his attributes be compared to Duke Johnson and Tavon Austin with other posts giving the illusion of grandeur. You've been around along enough, you've seen how many OOS skill position guys go to play for UM, UF, and FSU, and they just aren't as good as the playbill reads. They're a little smaller than you'd expect...they're a little slower than they are advertised...they just don't quite make the same plays as their peers. Last year's version of Corn Elder in Tennessee, Brian Kimbrow, is being pushed and will probably split carries with Jerry Seymour's little brother at Vanderbilt in 2013. So, I'm just saying...lets see this cat in a game, lets see this cat in competition with some athletes that would be considered his peer before we issue the crown and have illusions of grandeur about his role...we've seen some good OOS players get washed away rather quickly when it came down to that aspect.
