Coordinator Budget

Herman is making $6,500,000 in 2022 and $6,750,000 in 2023 from Texas. I believe he can’t coach or else he loses that ^. Which is why he’s an analyst.

Mullen I’m sure is making buyout money?

Zach Kittley is at the top of the list for OC imo. I just wonder how well he can implement a running game to suit Chaney/Knighton/Thad. I guess if he can convert 3&1 and isn’t scared of play calling vs big boys like Bama, who cares lol

Keep in mind ,you have guys like Mullen who are available, and getting paid by other schools. Say what you want about Dan, dude is a **** good offensive coach. Just get strong recruiters around him, using the money saved from UF paying him regardless of what we pay.

I'd love to see Miami go whole hog and go after someone like Kellen Moore, but Moore isn't happening, unless you pay him **** near HC money. That's not realistic.

Mullen would be one of my first calls. Plus, I saw this posted in another thread, his buyout won't be affected by any coaching position he takes. So, why not? We could have him for 2-3 years while he rebuilds his career. If Urban Meyer thought enough of him to make him an OC, who the **** are we to question his abilities.

Possibilities are practically endless if the $$$ is there. I really can’t see Mario hiring that goofy fooking mullet.

hold up, let's get back to what?

He needs to hire a good OC, not just someone that has a resume that excites people. Find the guy that can run an O that gets the most out of the talent we have right now. I don't think Mullen is that guy. He's the kind of guy Manny would hire, then beat his chest about.

Love the old guys, but they have to recognize that the game has changed. This is not 1999 anymore. We can’t just line up and run it down people throats. Even at the pro level, the game has changed. Who ever would have thought that you would see zone reads, and teams in shotgun 85-90% of the time, in the NFL…. but here we are. Schemes used to come down from the NFL, to College, and then into High Schools. Nowadays, with these “Air Raid” spread type systems, it’s just the opposite. Some of the stuff that High Schools offenses were doing 10-15 years ago can be seen every weekend now in college AND pro football. Because of rule changes that favor offenses, our surrounding talent base, and the fact that most of said talent base come already experienced in running spread offenses, it really make no sense to go back to an I formation, pro style offense. Teams score wayyyy too many points nowadays, to tie yourself down by running an outdated pro style scheme. You get behind, and you’re toast.

Sorry if this is on another thread, been driving all day so haven't kept up. I'm listening to Roman on Twitter live or whatever it's called. He said the budget for coordinators is absolutely massive, like enough to basically get whoever we want.

He said he could even see NFL coordinators coming to Miami. If Mario nails the coordinators, his ceiling is extremely high as i think he can set the culture and recruit his nuts off.
This is good enough to beat APP State by more than 3 points, beat UNC, and maybe win the mighty coastal. But not enough resources, personnel, and talent to feel good about playing Alabama in 3 years though.
If we forced to play them in the playoff, we will have a chance of a rematch but we will be still scared as **** of the match up.
