MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

“Stacking talent” in what would be considered a second tier conference? Bold strategy. We’d basically be relegated
Exactly. All of a sudden it's a good plan to try to be Boise State or UCF and put up good seasons and hope the real big boys take pity upon you and give you a playoff spot?

And the argument about there now being an expanded playoff won't actually be worth anything in a 2 super-conference + Notre Dame landscape. There will be moarrrrr than enough teams from that pool with similar (or even worse) records than you that will obviously be seen as more legitimate.

Stacking talent to rise in a weak conference has been done successfully recently. I don’t think it’s the same dynamic in this scenario going forward.

And if you have that mindset and you’re wrong, it will be treacherous …

Kind of feels like this ACC/Pac-12 marriage may pick up steam now to make a nationwide conference. Once the ACC big boys leave it could at least be somewhat compelling from a media/viewership standpoint and may ultimately be able to demand more than the $20M per school that Apple reportedly offered.
