FSU is very close to getting AAU approval. They are ramping up research expenditures and currently reports are that FSU is working on acquiring a healthcare system in the north Florida region.so AAU doesn’t MATTER anymore?

Fans here guessing and "insiders" on their 3rd year of predictions and assurances ...
Love it
2036 is a long time away. Not too late for FSU to up their game.so AAU doesn’t MATTER anymore?
I’d love to truly know the answer to this, but I don’t think anyone (on the internet) knows.so AAU doesn’t MATTER anymore?
And how long have UM and USF have theirs? I love that they think that all they have to do is acquire a health care system and BOOM! Instant AAU status!FSU is very close to getting AAU approval. UM, USF and ND just received accreditation in 2023. Your comment "they have absolutely no clue how this stuff works" is way off base. The FSU president and administration have AAU as a primary goal and they are putting in a major effort to ramp up every aspect that is considered in AAU evaluation from academic ranking to research expenditures and even into expanding health care involvement. Do "fans" underestimate difficulty in achieving final approvals ... most likely. But the FSU academic ranking has improved significantly since 2000 and their research expenditures for 2024 reached $455 million, basically the same level as Miami's 2023 reported figure, and their stated goal is to increase. And how long have UM and USF have theirs? Okay, you are talking about two audiences now. I have no idea what the administration thinks, but I’m sure they have a fine handle on it. The fans - to whom I was referring - absolutely have no idea how this works, as the majority do think they could be granted AAU status very soon. They do not realize that this takes DECADES. UM’s administration began working on getting AAU status in the 1980s and JUST gained it recently. The AAU also does not admit on an annual basis, or anywhere even close to it. So it’s great that the university is putting efforts into this and investing into health care, but 1) that doesn’t mean they will get AAU status within the next few years (i.e., the timeline in which they want to leave the ACC), 2) investing in one area of the university is possibly not enough, as FSU’s research expenditures are mostly based in the sciences, and the AAU likes breadth and diversity, and 3) the academic ranking of one publication is not their main focus, as they care more about (in addition to the research we’ve already discussed), faculty publications and awards, success of graduate programs (particularly medicine, business, and law - and FSU’s med program is young, comparatively), and most importantly, and AAU membership is meant to be a collaborative partnership among members, what the university does that is unique and special, and what they can bring g to the table to help the other members with research. All this takes a lot of time. I never said FSU will never get there. They absolutely could get there. But yes, anyone who thinks that it is going to happen very soon, and in the next year or two, is naive.UM, USF and ND just received accreditation in 2023. If the media partners want them in the B10 I really don't see AAU as being an obstacle as they ARE working to get there ... while Nebraska might be risking getting the boot if they don't get their house in order.
The B1G won't paint themselves into a corner by announcing it is an absolute requirement. IF Fox tells the B1G they will get more than $100M per year for FSU, FSU would get an invite. You'll hear something about how they are close to AAU certification so they will be welcomed with open arms and it will go to the back burner not to be heard of again, kinda like how Nebraska has gone almost 15 years now without being in the AAU.I’d love to truly know the answer to this, but I don’t think anyone (on the internet) knows.
FSU fans think they are getting accepted to the AAU any day now anyway, but that it doesn’t matter anyway. And with what we all know about the networks’ influence, it may not. But it would be nice for the Big10 to definitively say one way or another if doesn’t matter, if it is something that is perhaps one of the factors that they take under consideration (which is my guess), but not an absolute requirement, or is a strict requirement for membership.
But they are never going to publicly disclose that information, so all we can do is speculate. Unless one chooses to listen to Genetics’s flip-flopping bull****.![]()
I think it was in Panama City Beach. There are two hospitals here in Tallahassee. Tallahassee Memorial and Florida Capital Hospital. FSU doesn’t have the money to purchase either one. Having a partnership with one probably won’t cut it with the AAU. Besides, **** fsu
yes. Also happens in Hoboken and those immediate metro areas. Big alumni group in those places. My kids meet up with their friends all the timeNYC has tons of college football viewers, but it’s all the people who went to college elsewhere, now live and work in NYC and are watching their college. They aren’t watching NYC-area schools, such as Rutgers. I lived there for the three years I was in law school, so my UM friends and I would meet up at the bar that showed the Miami games. My Gator friends went to the UF bar. There was of course the Penn State bar, the Michigan bar, the Ohio State bar, the Duke bar, and so on and so forth.
