MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

-Then when Clemson joined FSU, it was stated Rad & Clemson’s AD were working together.

:LOL:

Go on and pull that receipt Relly

That was a Grade A fabrication right there ... Clemson and the Holes have been in bed on their ACC escape to the SEC from Day 1.

Far and way our likeliest partner for a move up to the P2 is Notre Dame

But but but Miami to the SEC, Miami to the B1G …. ACC had no leverage, yet we’re still in it for 6 more years?

Say whaaaaaaa. You think Notre Dame would actually partner with us?????

I think there's no shot in that. They don't need to partner with anyone let alone one of their biggest rivals.

Not "partner" in the sense of schools working in tandem, but more as brands and/or geographically-connected schools brought in as pairs.

Previous examples:

Texas + Oklahoma --> SEC

USC + UCLA --> B1G

Oregon + Washington --> B1G

I'm guessing we'll see the actual moves themselves completed by the summer of 2027 or '28:

ACC to B1G: UM+ND and Cal+Stanford

ACC to SEC: UVA+VT and UNC+NCSU and Clemson+fsu and Duke+GT

ACC to XII en masse: Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse, BC, SMU???

SOL: Wake

Those were the comments floating around at that time. Radakovitch being in lock step with his replacement at Clemson ... and those 3 schools (Miami, Clemson & FSU being the first programs to start seriously looking into the feasibility of an exit ... later the 'effort' would expand into a group effort by the "magnificent 7". Took Clemson quite a while after FSU filed to pull the trigger and file a suit. Frenk reportedly was in disagreement with Rad on the entire issue.

When Rad got to campus, Miami, Clemson, and FSU were already talking about how unhappy they were with the ACC media deal. The plan was for FSU and Clemson to be loud about it and go public, shake things up, and push for more info on the TV deal with ESPN.

With all the lawsuits, schools leaving the conference are getting better exit deals. Meanwhile, Miami played it smart, avoiding the PR mess and saving money in the process. We will not be in the conference in 2030. Mike Ryan is spot on with his take. But hey, believe what you want.

Others schools are in communication with other conferences, as well. It’s going to be real interesting where certain schools land and or do.
