But but but Miami to the SEC, Miami to the B1G …. ACC had no leverage, yet we’re still in it for 6 more years?

Masterful

This is the best case scenario for the postion we were in. What should they have done differently? How would you have achieved whatever outcome it is you were looking for?

I dont understand what all the crying is about. Its almost like a toddler throwing a tantrum because his dad couldn't grab the moon from the sky and hand it to him.

Okay, let's take away giving kudos to the Miami admin for the successful position Miami is in. Call it fortuitous, serendipity, luck, or coming out smelling like a rose. Whatever you want to call it, it has been to Miami's advantage. Would that make everyone happy? Can we quit looking a gift horse in the mouth and be happy?

What is most likely the truth is - the B1G and SEC would not been interested in expanding at this time as they are assessing how the latest expansion has affected them and their scheduling. Miami would have had to wait until 2030 at the earliest anyway. Miami, without a solid invitation to either conference, didn't want to burn any bridges with the ACC and play the safe game. They really had no other option. Let FSU and Clemson do the dirty work. And guess what? It worked out to Miami's benefit.

Are you proposing we stop pretending Miami masterminded the ordeal and just wait until actual news happens?

Probably wouldn't hurt. Although, it would be a much shorter thread and definitely not as entertaining.

The “crying” is calling out this victory lap bull **** acting as this was Miami’s masterful plan.

This entire board pointed & laughed at FSU for **** near a year, while propagating that Miami had its spot first wrapped up to the SEC. Then the propaganda that Miami to the B1G was a done deal created false expectations; all the while laughing how FSU burned its bridge w the ACC & doesn’t have a spot or do u not remember that?

Do u not recall this thread hung on every single word that Geriatrics said that was favorable to what CIS “insiders” said, & the moment he became pro-FSU that X handle was considered a fraud? (Although I been told ya’ll he was fraud in this thread, but b/c it didn’t fit the narrative, it was ignored).

Now that FSU did yeoman’s work, the same chest thumping is being parroted that this was all Miami’s plan. That’s the bull **** being called out.

This has been an abomination of a thread w/ constant goal post movements, narrative changes that fits whatever today’s storyline is. Do u not recall just last year Dan openly came out & said he was shocked at Clemson, & Miami is incredibly solid w the ACC?

FSU & Clemson did work b/c their ADs said fck this, especially after the ACC received 0 respect in the CFP 2024. So yes, bravo we were benefactors in this, there’s nothing to complain about; but, let’s stop conflating being benefactors vs. initiators or puppet masters.

I didnt quote anything from you but if you want to be grouped as a cryer thats cool with me.

The facts are we arrived in the exact same position and stand to benefit exactly the same amount as FSU and Clemson without spending the money or taking the hits. Based on the facts, seems like we player our hand correctly. There was nothing more to be had.

You can have a different take, thats cool but there is no need to be dramatic. Unless you are DIRECTLY tied in, all the other noise is just speculation and hyperbole.

Again, u r missing the point. Not one person has “cried” about anything. No one is complaining or in ur words “crying” about the outcome; it’s the peacocking like this was always the plan.

There’s something called happenstance, & u don’t get to peacock when happenstance takes presence as if bull**** wasn’t spewed this entire thread. We’re benefactors, just like the rest of the ACC b/c FSU & Clemson walked so we could all run.

FSU & Clemson walked so we could all* run.

*As long as All only refers to FSU, Clemson, and Miami.

I think we actually feel the same way for the most part. The outcome was best case scenario. In politics and business, thats really all that matters.

In my opinion, they played it correctly and got to the most beneficial outcome. Whether that was pure luck, proper gamesmanship or a combination of the two.... Who knows.

As far as message board banter and peacocking, I dont get too worked up about that stuff. I think your a Cali guy, Im in LA now. Maybe one day will run into each and laugh about it over a drink

We will never know the outcome of Miami or another school being involved because we all sat it out. But if Phillips had no leverage, it is possible to think it could have turned out better for the schools, if more were involved to turn up the heat further. But, we’ll never know.

The peacocking makes little sense given the existence of this thread, is mainly the point.

Miami has a long history of being inept, so…the likelihood that all of a sudden, we went all super smart 007… highly unlikely

This LA for drinks plan sounds well thought out though for the next time I roll through.

$700M BUYOUT of ACC

Changed to

$100M

which will end up being $75M

cost: $3M LEGAL FEES… poor ole FSU and CLEMSON has a MASSIVE BILL to pay. We’re paying CARSON BECK fewer. GMAB FELLAS on the talking points

Wish we saved the BECK $ and put more PRESSURE on what is now the narrative NOLEVERAGE J PHILLIP by putting our SOFLA LAWYERS on their ***. **** would cost us $10M but everyone walks out Scott free in 2026 no BUYOUT

I mean what CITY other than DC has a better congregation of the TRIBE ready to rip into an INSTITUTION? Other than DRUGS, we have no better INDUSTRY. can you imagine $10M of our own money would’ve DONE?

Instead in a complete 180, our fanbase is suddenly SELF FELLATIOing over being weak and QUIET. F THAT
