One issue is it is a small private school. The undergrad enrollment is 7,000. Less than Miami. So they are not going to have a huge stadium filled. Also, the Dallas area is filled with UT, Oklahoma, TCU, A&M alumns. But one thing is they have some very wealthy boosters.

Agree on most pts but the University of Arkansas is in Fayetteville (Northwest Arkansas in the Ozarks). Would choose Dallas all day, and the Dallas area probably has more D1 recruits than the entire state of Arkansas.
 
It depends on if Rhett and his wife love Arkansas, and want to go back home. He is Arkansas born and bred. He was born there, went to school there, sorta like Mario and Miami. If it means that much to him, money wont matter as much even if SMU pays up.

One thing about Lashlee is he's not dumb. Much more upside at SMU than Arkansas. Came in year 1 and ran through the league and they are still not hitting on all cylinders yet (1st yr in power 4 recruiting etc).

UM also has wealthy boosters. But Lashlee + UM rejects winning ACC in their first year has very little to do with how much boosters are contributing and a lot more to do with having much better coaching and utilization of players. They didn’t hire Urban Meyer at 14 million per year and then sign all the top transfers in the portal.
