Im sure SMU would match anything Arkansas offered and im sure thats in the contract too. So it wouldnt come down to money...it would actually come down to how much he really just wants to be back at Arkansas and win their as opposed to winning at SMU. (Someone brought up Mario and its a perfect example. Mario knew it would mean more to him to win it all at UM then it ever would winning it all at Oregon). But like someone also said..its the SEC and its Arkansas. Yikes. You can convince kids to come hang out in downtown Dallas..but Little Rock, Arkansas? Yeesh. (I guess Calipari is doing it with the Bball team so hey..it could happen)

Big difference in Miami and Arkansas. Miami has had success in the past. Arkansas doesn’t have nearly the potential as SMU. Prime example is look what happened when Chad Morris left SMU and went to Arkansas, and SMU is in a much better position now. If he were to leave I could see him choosing Auburn over Arkansas if both jobs were open.
Maybe it’s PTSD being born and raised in Arkansas and seeing how countless times they always seem to come up short or just plain trash lol. 51-7 in 1987 against JJ, the fumble vs Tennessee in 1998, countless losses to Texas. In the last 20 years besides 2 years under Petrino and 1 year under Nutt they have been trash to average.

I like how you said, "IF they decide to spend the NIL money"...they already got Calipari's budget to deal with..you think they will want another mega budget to keep the football team in SEC contention? That will take triple whatever the bball teams budget is. Does Arkansas brass care about the football team winning SEC titles and nattys that much? Meh, I guess we will see.
SMU can easily match that. People don’t understand how much F’u money SMU boosters have. When they announced they were joining the ACC they raised $100 million in just one week.
People know. But having it and wanting to spend it are two different things. They basically went to the ACC title game with an NIL budget of basically nothing ill bet. But now that the stakes are higher..They will need to promise Lashlee a significant boost in NIL for him to keep this going. Im sure that was spoken about in his extension. Also, im sure he spoke about promoting the football program more too. For them to be a 10-1 team..their fan support is worse than ours! lol.
