Im saying bro, if your faster than all but 10 cats your size in the nation, have hand size that would be 90% at the NFL combine, you can cover at that size, have that wingspan, outrunning dbs, like man, tell me, what is your definition of elite. Shade doesn't tell me anything.

My guy the word elite is the top handful in each position in that class IF there's even that many. Elite QBs coming out last year were Fields Lawrence and Daniels. That's elite. DE last year elite was X Thomas, Kj Henry, Parsons, Anoma. Do I think Harvey can be potentially better than them one day with coaching? Possibly but as of today we don't know that and his film show he's a very good football player not elite. Trey Sanders is probably the only ELITE RB in this class. There's a drop off after him. But like I said going forward obviously kids mature and things happen. As of today elite is a handful. You wouldn't go and say Joe Flacco is elite because of his arm talent. There's two elite QBs and we know who they are.

I agree with the star thing but But Rousseau film wasn't elite. He had elite traits which they believed they could be developed into a freak on the edge. As we're finding out so far so good.

The U became the U by taking the 3 stars in FL who they knew were underrated. The program's downfall was when coaches started looking at rivals rankings to recruit. The 5 star Ryan Moore and Darnell Jenkins years are not to be forgotten.

The way you build a superiorly athletic defense is you take kids like this, put them in an intense S&C program, and play them down a position.

It was the Jimmy Johnson model. You take backers in HS and put them on the edge. You take edges in HS and put them at DT. It's a reason I laugh so hard when I hear people say Rousseau's film wasn't elite. We knew from Day 1 we'd put 50 pounds on him and put him on the edge, and in HS the kid is running go routes on the outside and Mossing kids at WR and you think he's not gonna be an athletic freak of nature as an edge player?

This kid Harvey looks great. Athletic as **** and huge...you can have this kid at 245 in a heartbeat, teach him technique, and have a heck of a player.

Didn’t he play mostly WR AND DB in HS? I don’t understand the film opinions either.

I read up here in the Vero paper, during spring practice he was so disruptive they had to make some changes to practice, so the offense could get their work done.

Agree to disagree I guess. I judge a book by elite traits. theres a reason why players like the lineman from IMG last who neer played football was **** near elite because of traits. We can pick stars easy and say elite but it doesn't mean much to me. No one considered Garvin elite but he had traits. Bandy wasn't considered elite by most but his tape, aggressiveness awareness should have told us different. What I see is what I see and we disagree thats fine. But recruiting the the elite of the only would be a losing game for most schools since most schools wouldn't last if they only looked at stars. The best players aren't the ones with elite media coverage more times than not, its the ones that pass the eye test, measurement test, and IQ test. But do you.

I think most throw the word "elite" around too loosely, especially for our players.

An elite player is evident from the jump imo. Sure there are outliers, or kids who had traits and got good coaching, but that isnt always the case.

Would rather have the "elite" kid who has it all and just refine his technique. That's what the top 5 programs do.
