Golden has to be in a tough spot.. I hope this doesn't change his perceptions of friendships. But a business relationship requires you to evaluate how successful it is at every level.

Golden has to hire guys who can develop talent. I just want to see kids develop! I don't think that is asking a lot to ask.

Thats right, and one of the first principles of running a business is to not hire/partner with your friends. It never ends well for all the obvious reasons. Looks like this situation is further proof.

If it was gonna happen, it already would have. .

That's not a factual statement. There are plenty of reasons why nothing has happened yet. Some very plausible scenarios are:

* Golden doesnt want any changes prior to NLOI day
* The coaches convention is in late January. This is where a ton of coaching moves come from. Al might be giving his buddy some time to find another gig. (very likely scenario).
* UM AD needs to take measures to find more money for coordinator level hire to go after who they want. That can take time, need upper Mgt to sign off, etc..

We just finished our season three days ago. I have no idea if a move will be made but to say that it wont because it hasnt happened already is flawed logic.

Personally, if I were guessing - It wouldnt surprise me if Jethro got thrown under the bus after the coaches convention. If Im right, you guys watch and see where Jethro lands. Dude is a very good position coach and the marketplace knows it. He'll likely be a D line coach back in the NFL next year (assuming he's the scapegoat - my guess)

This. People need to relax and try to be semi-intelligent about the situation. There are current multiple NFL head coaching jobs open plus Texas with the likes of Bill O'Brien, Bob Stoops, Art Briles, Kevin Sumlin, David Shaw and Brian Kelly rumored to be considered for various jobs. If any of those coaches leave their current schools, there is a domino effect that could help or hurt Miami.

Settle the **** down and see how things unfold.

cowherd is an idiot like skip bayless. two soft unathletic guys who somehow make a living talking sports.
Guess you didn't like Jedd Fisch much, with his amazing football playing history.

BOOM! Down goes Frazier!

u are comparing a guy who paid his dues and learned the game as a ga to guys that went to journalism class and write opinions.

To be fair, Skip play Basketball Highschool. Stephen A. also played on a college level. Skip has cover sports for over 30 years, stephen A. 15+.

Just like Fisch never played. He was able pick up the concept of the sports, and have some success at it. I just dislike the notion that because you did it, you cant understand it or the concept of it.

Being Skip has spent 30 years in the business. You may not like his opinion. Fine by me. But to say he knows nothing about sports...come broham.

While I agree that our defense was awful this year, you can't put the Louisville loss solely on the defense. They actually looked like they were playing well early and we're keeping us in the game. But the offense really **** the bed and forced a weak defense to be on the field way too much. That was a whole team loss / dismemberment.

Classic Cowherd. The offense killed us Saturday night. Had they played anywhere near up to normal level we would have been in the game and may have won it. Herd is an idiot who just goes with the flow.

I figured the folks around here would love Cowherd and Bayless -- two guys that do nothing other than say outlandish things to create a stir, beat a dead horse or play the contrarian schtick.

I didn't give a **** what Cowherd had to say yesterday, so i sure as **** don't give a **** what he has to say today or tomorrow. He screams about the defense --- we already knew that --- the offense was the surprising abortion of the bowl game.

That was their "normal level." The offense and team sucks against anybody with a pulse.

And we wouldn't have been in the game, the defense forced like one punt in the first half. They sucked and only kept us in the game from the start because of penalties by Louisville and overthrown balls. As soon as Bridgewater settled in, they were toast.

Clearly Cowherd is a reader of this board to make a statement like that.

Most of those ESPN guys read our site.

:ibisroflmao::espnsux:

Mine were sarcastic, not so sure of SF's.

Was not being sarcastic. I know Scott Van Pelt referenced our website on the air about a year and a half ago. Not by name but it was us he was referring to. Others have made comments that can only lead you to believe they or someone from their staff read it here.

For the "Golden is waiting until after NSD to pull the trigger" crowd...who is Dorito the lead recruiter for that we are competing over? How many guys are coming here to play for Dorito? I honestly don't know the answers to those questions, and quite frankly I can't imagine that any recruit that is coming here to play for Dorito is smart enough to qualify.

ESPN and others, who HATE Miami, are coming out now in hopes they can hurt our recruiting. If they thought he sucked, they'd praise him like they did Shannon, hoping he stays forever.

This is just a primitive attempt at ******* us during recruiting.

Golden has YET to state that "D'Onofrio will be retained". Everyone associated with the program believes that D'Onofrio is a marked liability. It is going to be highly difficult for Golden to retain the DC.

Golden has to evaluate each of his employees and then meet with Blake to discuss his assessment. Golden is not a dumb man. Blake will not grant D'Onofrio a second year and the defense is not going to improve much next year with Mark at the helm. Golden will have to let Mark go.

I used to listen to his show regularly before my schedule changed, there was a time when he was blasting Michigan fans for not embracing rich rod and how huge of a success he was going to be in the big 10 , like anybody his analysis is hit and miss

If the national media is calling out Coach D, then Golden's loyalty to him might be the worst thing for Coach D's career if they don't get things turned around.

Oh boy...another insider. I hope you are right with your assessment. I don't want to shoot holes in it but I would consider Golden to be associated with the program and it doesn't seem that he feels he is a liability.

Oh yeah, next year will be D'onofrios fourth year, not his second.

LOL. Rush defense looked prepared to me.
Screens killed us and that falls on the coaches. But other than that they didn't play that bad.
There is a reason why Teddy will be the 1st qb taken in the draft.

Cowherd should have called out the offense. They were the main reason for the loss.
But hard to do much against UL's defense with 5 key offensive weapons either out or injured.

Exactly. When our supposedly high-powered offense has a grand total of 174 yards, 0.5 yds/carry, 5.9 yds per pass attempt with 44% completion, 0-12 on 3rd down conversions, and a 17 minute differential in time of possession, this one falls on the offense.
