Just said on the radio that the bowl game that stood out to him the most is "Louisville destroying Miami" He then proceeded to say Miami doesn't have the talent to compete for Championships but they have the talent to beat Louisville, but the D was unprepared. He also said he likes Al Golden and he will win at Miami but not with this Defensive Coordinator and changes need to be made . ON NATIONAL RADIO HE JUST SAID GOLDEN NEEDS TO MAKE A DC CHANGE!! Everyone can see it and if Golden can't see it then maybe he needs to go.

If it was gonna happen, it already would have. Time to start coping with reality and stop letting this eat away at you.
 
Thats the saddest part of this whole thing. Golden is actually a really good head coach. But if he doesn't unhitch his wagon from No D. It will be his downfall.

While I agree that our defense was awful this year, you can't put the Louisville loss solely on the defense. They actually looked like they were playing well early and were keeping us in the game. But the offense really **** the bed and forced a weak defense to be on the field way too much. That was a whole team loss / dismemberment.

LOL. Rush defense looked prepared to me.
Screens killed us and that falls on the coaches. But other than that they didn't play that bad.
There is a reason why Teddy will be the 1st qb taken in the draft.

Cowherd should have called out the offense. They were the main reason for the loss.
But hard to do much against UL's defense with 5 key offensive weapons either out or injured.
 
I know D'onofrio is Goldens best friend but seriously Business is Business.

IMO the Head Coach is responsible for 4 things
1) Figure Head/Non Football related responsibilities: does the public like and and respect him. is he well spoken, do alum and boosters who give money like him. Yes
2) Closing Big Name recruits: Tracy Howard, AQM,McCord, and if most of this current class holds a resounding yes
3) Motivating Players: When I watch the games we usually start fired up, but it fades as we fail to and make plays and our defense gets worked over.
4) hire and manage a great staff; this has yet to be seen and is the most important because the staff coaches spend more time with the individual players than the HC does. They develop the players and his job is to make sure they are staying ahead of the curve in coaching and not being stagnant.

IMO Golden has done 3/4. I'm not happy about the way we finished the season. But there is a reason that every time coaching jobs come open Al Golden's name comes up. There is a reason everyone expects him to win here. The only ppl who seem to doubt this are the ppl who should support this notion this most which is the Cane Fans

UL doesnt make their money running the ball, they are probably ranked in 80s all year. If you develop a gameplan against UL its to stop Teddy, he is the main #1 guy. Unquestioned. Pull up his stats and tell me how we did. As a DC you want to take away option #1. FAIL
 
other teams ran 100s of screens in one variety or other this year....we blew up ONE...last Saturday with chick late in the game.

This is on the players having to identify the play...our DL and LBs still engage and run after the QB like they are in HS...for whatever reason Chick peeled off and made a great play...first I have seen this year on a screen...

on the other hand, Stephen sees the other teams defense read the screen and still throws the ball ether very poorly or in the ground or INT.....

Only 3 of those matter.

1) does not count because if you win it will come.

2) big name recruits are fine but if they are coached up it means nothing. Tracy Howard is always mad cause of the scheme, and AQM and Mccord are decent at best at this point. They both only have a speed rush and they cant play the run. Ex. mccord on teddys touchdown.

3) This team comes out flat every game. Did you see the pregame. Louisville was all in our face, they were hyped but miami was looking scared. They had the same look in their eyes to begin the Fl State game.

4) nothing really to be said here.

Defense gave up how many yards? How many points? To a mediocre offense. Don't. Get fooled by Bridgewater. While he's a great QB, their offense was not elite. Teams like Memphis had no problem slowing them down.

The number 1 priority for this entire program is recruiting. Period. If that means keeping the crappy *** DC through signing day, so be it.

Bobby Bowden hired his son as OC... thought he was untouchable. Al talking like he's entitled.
