Coley needs to be gone before D'Onofrio

Losing Duke exposed Coley, and our OL. Duke made both of them seem a lot better than they actually were.

Quite honestly it's amazing how productive Duke has been for us given the circumstances.

When any team loses their best player, they aren't as good. Winston makes Jimbo look like a genius. Take him away and they don't have the same season.

They all need to go to a coaching clinic, online class, speak to Howard,
JJ anyone than can set them straight. Anything to hopefully avoid the disasters of this season.

Coley is terrible. Senior qb took a huge step back. That's on the OC.

Offensive line full of experience and regardless of injuries there are playmakers at the skill positions and they **** the bed.

He's terrible.

**** the bed. **** the hallway. **** the driveway. **** the street. **** the practice field. **** the stadium. **** the University. **** I-10. **** South Beach.

**** the State of Florida.

**** everything.

I think by far our biggest regression has been on offense. We can't sustain a drive to save our lives, can't block in short yardage situations and fail to utilize our RB's in the passing game. The best defense is a good offense yet we continue to go 3 and out and leave the defense on the field. There IS NO EXCUSE for Duke having 4 receptions in 8 games, he should have 4 a game. Morris has looked lost since Fisch left and it's not about his ankle as he was healthy last night. Dorsett before he got hurt was a shell of what he was last year with Fisch calling the plays. Williams should have played the 2nd half last night as we weren't coming back with Morris.

D'Onofrio has to go but I don't see it happening, did we even run a safety blitz after the one resulting in a safety?

stfu - at the very least Coley recruits & it's his qst year

We were missing Duke, Dorsett, Scott, Waters and Hurns was in a boot prior to kick off.

Coley tried everything to lean on the offensive line but they laid an egg. We already know what we had in Morris. He is not going to win a game because he never extend plays. When was the last time Morris made...an athletic play to extend a drive?

With those key players out and a QB who does not make plays it is hard to fault our OC.

Going back to this, there was a chance in this game for Morris to run for a first down on 2nd and 5. He got the corner and then threw it out of the bounds. LOL

I think Kehoe should stay. I like veteran, experienced coaches on our staff. The OC/DC are the guys that are looking like amateur hour.

How many times is it 3rd and 5 and you just know Morris does not have it in him to pick up the first down. He can't read defenses, locks on to WR's,has no poise and you can especially see this in the screen game and short passes. He does not have a high football IQ and has little presence. He has a rocket for an arm but i believe he gets caught up in that way to much and that is why we see all the long throws. It is like he is showcasing his arm instead of working on the nuances of the game. Williams is not a superstar but being 6'6 and being able to see over the lines and down the field will allow the Canes to move the chains. Williams arm is not close to the strength of Morris but it does not have to be. Move the chains and possess the ball, how much would that help the defense? If its 3rd down and we need 4 yard don't throw the ball 40 yards, move the chains. Williams can do this the same way he used the TEnds in the spring. A weapon like Berrios in the slot with his quickness will be a mismatch a QB like Willams will take advantage of. I have no doubt with Williams the QB the Canes will make many more first downs and have much more time of possession next year.

Morris is the same QB this year that he was last year. There was no step back.

I can't believe there is anyone that thinks Coley should be fired before Coach D...

Miami defensive rankings:
Scoring defense = 66
Total defense = 90

Miami offensive rankings:
Scoring offense = 34
Total offense = 47

Not even close.

Wrong. Projected 2nd round pick coming into the year, projected 5th round exiting the year. 3 to 1 TD to interception ratio last year, not even 2 to 1 this year, completion % down this year (already very low last year), etc. All despite playing a much easier schedule this year.

You related to Coley or something? Or maybe just not see very many games this year. That 0 for 11 on third down conversions yesterday must've "clouded" your mind on how awesome Coley is. (I will mentally insert a "it was 100% Morris' fault" here so you wont need to post it). Coley hit the floor on the potential production most expected from this offense coming into the year. To you 33 points per game (inflated probably 3/4 points per game by Savannah State) sounds like a lot (do you realize 60 teams averaged 30 pts this year?). To me, it's about as low as they could possibly average.

And as far as comparing the rankings go, a lot more talent on offense than defense. Even with a competent DC I don't think most people would've said the defense would perform better than the offense this year.

Both coordinators suck.

Projected based on physical ability, a nice stretch against weak teams to end the year last year and a good showing at the Manning passing camp. Morris has never had the mental part of the game and it showed many times this year and last year.

Not related to Coley at all. I just look at things objectively and don't rush to any rash conclusions. I never once said Coley was awesome. I never once said Coley had a good game against Louisville. I never said it was 100% Morris's fault. Those are words you put into my mouth. I said Coley showed some flashes and has potential to grow into a really good OC. He could've done better this year no doubt but to say he should be fired before the DC is absurd, which is what the OP said.

If your offense scores over 30 points per game, you should win 90% of your games. All the defense has to do is hold the opposing team under 30 points. That isn't asking much out of a defense. If you want to say the scoring average is inflated because of Savannah State then you have to do the same for every other team that played similar bad opponents and adjust the rankings. It just doesn't count against Miami and no one else.

Morris locks onto receivers this year where he wasn't last year, Louisvilles DBs just dropped 3 easy int's last week. He used to go for the marker on runs, vs VT with game on line and 4th and 5 he runs OB a yard short when he could have dove for 1st down. He has regressed as much as the Houston Texans.

Fire Coley after one season? "You don't live in Cleveland. . ."

They just hired Coley there's no point in even discussing firing him honestly. I was worried about Coley but he's learning on the job and apparently offers a lot recruiting. Morris hamstrung him to an extent and losing Duke (and also Dorsett) killed him. We were a completely different offense by year's end that could basically only throw some WR screens and pray. That's not all Coley--it's clear that he had to modify some things due to his personnel. We expected this year that losing Morris or Duke would devastate the offense. We'll see how he evolves.

Dono is in a completely different situation. He's had 3 years with this defense. It's a terrible harbinger when a guy is several times worse in year 3 than he was in year 1. That would suggest that opposing teams have figured him out and he hasn't been able to respond. The personnel are certainly a part of that as well, but the performances of the younger guys in this system can't give anyone any faith. We are faced with a complete reassessment and re-deployment of this defense the 4th year in which again is a really bad sign.

Scheme aside, I think Coach D struggles with the basic responsibilities of a D Coord. He is slow getting the call in which likely represents he is not seeing what opposing coaches are about to do to him. This sets his scheme/players up for failure by not giving them ample time to get lined up and analyze what they are seeing. He rarely makes adjustments based on the opposing teams adjustments. I used to think it was stubbornness by sitting in the same ol bs time after time. Now I just think he is lost and in over his head.
