Coley drop

Coley did drop a couple but he had his way with FSU secondary, as did Hearns. We lost but our WRs just about owned that secondary. Oline play good. Duke was almost at 100 yards when he got hurt. Defense could get a punt but got two picks that converted to 14 points. That is close to winning stuff.

well, at least people are no longer claiming that he's better than all-world Sammy Watkins.

Coley is pretty **** good. IDK if he is at Watkins level as a freshman, because Watkins had a competent QB throwing 82 passes at him. Coley has, well, you know who throwing to him.

I love coley. he is young. but, the one that hit his hands was a drop on coley. great pass.
the one he underthrew, coley should have been able to undercut the db and make the catch and either score or put us at the 10.

Coley should really benefit from an off-season in Utough. Seems like a kid that can add some strength and will be a nightmare next season.

He's not aggressive enough when the ball is in the air on a consistent basis. It will come though. When you have a QB like Morris you are going to have to play DB sometimes, which he could learn a few things from a kid like Hurns.

The first throw was the only one he missed played. It was basically a jump ball though because it was covered well by the safety. Wasn't a sure catch by any means. The second one was the worse. Coley beat his man but Morris saw it too late and then tried to all arm it. You have to get that out sooner and allow Coley to run under it. The third was too much of a dart and it was too high. If he gets a little air under it or puts it more on his body, its a TD. So basically Morris missed two TDs to Coley while Coley misjudged one ball they may or may not have been caught.

this is so fcking stupid. Watkins was dropping passes his freshman season (and still does), difference is he was targeted by Clemson over a 100x's that year. Stop acting like a dropped pass is some type vindication against people who thought Coley has Watkins ability. If his qb didn't underthrow him on two deep passes (and failed to even throw the ball on another play before taking a moronic 14 yard sack, where Coley was open for another big play) you'd be quiet as a mouse the same way you've been the previous two months.

Also lmbo at people acting like FSU's 3rd/4th year WR are being asked to do the crap you're complaining Coley didn't/wouldn't because they have high point some of Winstons passes, but ignore the difference between the situations. Winston understands ball placement and the jump balls his WR are getting are all placed in areas where his WR have the best shot at making a play on the ball. They aren't asked to break stride, comeback inside, and become a DB. Thank goodness kid chose to stay home because I shudder to think what he would be doing with a qb who actually gives him a decent chance to make a play on the ball.

The first throw was **** poor.

The second was thrown about two seconds too late.

The Coley drop is 50-50, but even still he missed a wide open Walford on that play (even with Walfords case of hot potato).

The 1 one handed drop down the field was on Coley...... if he wouldve put 2 hands on the ball he couldve caught it.

The interception that was thrown was on Morris even though Coley couldve prevented the INT. S. Morris under threw the deep ball which was very unusual if he wouldve put more force on the ball, Coley couldve caught the ball possibly for a TD.

he had an ok game against FSU, he made a gutsy catch on the sidelines when he got laid out by Jalen Ramsey but he did miss on some opportunities.

He's had to step up more and more b/c of injuries each week so he's had to do more then he probably wouldnt have to do so early in his career. If Rashawn Scott, Phillip Dorsett werent injured he wouldnt have been in so many pressure moments in that FSU game.

what r u talking about.... get off this Walford bs.

If the receiver is open u go for it, the TE is secondary, everybody needs to understand by now.

nice try. People on here were saying that true freshman Coley - after one kickoff return against f'n Savanah St - was as good or better than junior Watkkins, which is palpably absurd.

but even if you compared Coley's first year to Watkins, it's Watkins in a landslide. He was absolutely dominant as a true freshman; there was talk of him as a Heisman candidate, because of his on-field production. And what really stood out, was how well the kid played in the big games. He was and is a gamer.

I am not attacking Coley. He's very good, and has the potential to be great. But he is not remotely in the discussion of Sammy Watkins at this point.

I don't disagree. i think Coley is very good, especially considering he's a freshman. But he is nowhere near the level of Sammy Watkins. Nor has he produced in the ballpark of what Watkins did in his freshman campaign.

smdh Watkins was targeted over 100 times by Clemson, I would hope his production would be higher than Coleys. Watkins avg 15 ypc as a freshman, Stacy avg over 16.5 per. Stacy also avg more yards per ret and basically the same per rush. the only thing Watkins did better was getting more opportunities. maybe if Morris force fed him the way Boyd did Sammy he would have better numbers because it's not like the kid isn't constantly open.
