Colbie Young Arrested in Athens

Or, maybe he was already a problem & was encouraged to kick rocks.

Sometimes, **** don’t come out til players leave programs. I’ve seen it all too often, & u find out coaches buried **** to protect the program. Not saying that has happened here, but u don’t go from a model citizen to a woman beater of a pregnant woman over night.

He was not a behavioral problem, it was more of an attitude problem. He was told he would have to compete for a starting role and he didn't like that.

Happened to two of my cousins, champ.
college football players knocking girls up or beating up pregnant women or both? I just don't understand how these dudes are this careless and stupid to not protect themselves while humping around, its an epidemic. Beating on a women, pregnant or not, is just the ultimate **** move

Is that his girl he moved up there with?? Dude hasn’t been living in GA that long but he was quick to pull himself into a bad situation when he should have spent the year isolated working on his craft for the NFL and draft

Knocking up chicks, bro. Both tricked off their careers b4 they even started. One of my relatives played w/ Farve at So. Miss. Bro didn’t even last past his RS yr, knocking up his chick then followed her to Grambling, had to sit out a yr. Got in trouble while he was sitting out & just abandoned CFB altogether as he had to support them.

My other relative, which is both of our younger cousin, started his career at Auburn. During his RS yr, knocked up a chick from his home town in Mississippi. Got home sick b/c of her & the baby; transferred to So. Miss (thanks to Brett), played a little bit but didn’t have the same passion as he felt obligated to support them.

Oh, both didn’t marry these chicks & had children w/ other women later. Smh.

That's fair but maybe he's now around a culture that allows a lot of crap as has been evidenced by the multiple arrests and even a death that involved a staffer on the team.. Just saying.

According to an Athens-Clarke County Police incident report obtained by ESPN, a 20-year-old woman, who described herself as Young's ex-girlfriend, told police that she went to his apartment around 12 a.m. ET Tuesday to discuss their relationship.

When the conversation became heated after she discovered he was on the phone with another woman, the complainant said Young "grabbed her left arm near her biceps and triceps and physically pulled her out of his room." The woman said Young was "using derogatory terms and being demeaning of her." She said Young went back to his room and locked the door.

The woman told police she started to collect her belongings when a friend called her phone. When she answered, the woman told police, "Mr. Young came out and grabbed her from behind. She said that he picked her up and began to squeeze her torso and abdomen very hard. She said she felt like [Young] was trying to harm her."
Just so people will actually read what happened ... from the victims perspective at least...

So he pulled her by the arm out of his room. Then seems like he grabbed her from behind and likely carried her out of the house completely. So at least it wasn't like he was actually hitting her. Based only on this description it doesn't sound all that crazy bad. Guess it all depends on the "grabbed her from behind" part...

I refrain from judgement with these type situations until I there’s more evidence because I’ve seen and dealt with lunatic chicks. Especially women messing with athletes and they’ve been cheated on or are getting dumped. They realize their lottery ticket is moving on so they try to destroy a dudes character out of anger.

Yes, but...

There is no evidence of "lunatic chick". And while it does seem she was "cheated on or getting dumped", she is also pregnant, presumably with his child (I realize that is a rebuttable presumption, per Maury Povich, but still). And with most southern states eliminating abortion rights, there are going to be a lot more discussions about the 18 years of child support obligations that states can impose after a simple DNA test.

So I'm not sure that a pregnant woman wanting to discuss options with the (presumed) father of the child is some sort of "lunatic" situation. And if the guy is on notice that his baby-mama is coming over to have a serious life-circumstances discussion, maybe HE is the "lunatic" to choose to be having a phone conversation with his new girl when he KNOWS a pregnant woman is showing up to talk to him.

He has a door with a lock. If she is a "lunatic", he doesn't have to let her in. I'm not taking anyone's side definitively, there was bad decision-making on the part of multiple individuals. And he is not 17, he's lived as an adult on his own for long enough to be aware that minor situations can escalate out-of-control if you don't use your head and work to prevent problems from arising.

I hope this situation is not permanently scarring for any/all parties, but Kirby has had a loooong history of problems over the past few years, and Colbie may bear the brunt of whatever reaction is coming next.
