Coburn???

I went over to the Texas board and they're def nervous.

Mod said Miami is the only OOS school Coburn visited

This was probably the prospect Miami’s targeted that I thought Miami had the least chance to get. Lives in TX, committed to the flagship university in the state. But there’s way too much smoke there right now. Obviously no guarantee he flips, he could’ve trolling, but I feel better about him choosing Miami than I did even two days ago.

UT is the flag ship in big cities like San Antonio and Austin (obviously on the latter). Houston is mixed. Dallas is mostly Sooner fans.

I'm not saying we get Coburn. But to say Miami's completely out of this given location, academics on top of early playing time available; you can't count us out.

Dallas is mostly Sooner fans - you kidding right?

Right. While there are some Sooners there, most in Dallas are Tea Sippers (Longhorns) followed by Aggies.

South Dallas has major love for Miami and always will. We have missed the boat there for 20 years. It hurts man.

Same kind of gritty city kid like the LC kids. You rite. Not many football hotbeds like LC - south Dallas is as close to it as any

Any other schools he visited besides us and UT? Anyone else he could be considering that would make UT nervous?

houston has way more aggies than horns. energy companies hire the engineers by the busload.

50-50. Houston is a lot more than just energy companies. It's one of the top two employers along with healthcare, but there are a lot of other types of businesses. 4th largest city after all.

Sucks for the IT market though (considering its size).

I think that is more in Austin, right?

Yep. Austin's the IT hub for Texas, which is why it's grown considerably over the last few years. I was in Seattle prior to moving back to Texas and it's amazing how much worst the traffic is. Dallas has strong part of the market as well. But Austin's stronger given its size in relation to Dallas.

Texas A&M I believe.

He's only OV'd 3 schools: UT, TCU and Miami. He went to TCU the week after Texas. Miami is the only OOS OV. I can't imagine that TAMU gets him without so much as a UOV. But it seems like TCU would be the other school to worry about and I haven't heard a peep about them.

I lived in Beaumont for a few years and went to Houston a lot in my time there. Bmt seemed like it was 35% UT, 35% TAMU, 30% LSU (and then me). Given Bmt is only 3 hours from Baton Rouge that makes sense. Houston seems like it's about that mix, maybe closer to 40/40/20. I never got a great feel for Dallas the times I went there, but I feel like it'd be just like the game, split 50/50.

Desoto actually calls itself "Desoto U" and throws up the U. Miami gear all over the bleachers. Skyline, Duncanville, South Oak Cliff, etc always has Miami gear. What Miami had in the 80s/90s really resonated with South Dallas, and Armstead, Daryl Jones, and Kevin Williams all left a legacy.

Lots of folks in this area love Miami more than Miami folks love Miami.

I like Coburn, but can someone drop his link.. I only see old highlights from 2016 anything from his senior year.

With the connections to the football program that we have on this board, can we get someone to relay this info?!

TBH. I think he is ours because of the simple fact.. you don't say no to Texas for f*cking Texas A&M. IDC that A&M is in the SEC or that they have Jimbo and fancy door *****.. If your a Texas commit from Texas and you flip to TAMU it because you got dropped. Texas seems to be on him so it can't be that.. so it either us or Texas.
