Coburn???

Dallas is mostly Sooner fans - you kidding right?

Right. While there are some Sooners there, most in Dallas are Tea Sippers (Longhorns) followed by Aggies.

South Dallas has major love for Miami and always will. We have missed the boat there for 20 years. It hurts man.

Same kind of gritty city kid like the LC kids. You rite. Not many football hotbeds like LC - south Dallas is as close to it as any

Desoto actually calls itself "Desoto U" and throws up the U. Miami gear all over the bleachers. Skyline, Duncanville, South Oak Cliff, etc always has Miami gear. What Miami had in the 80s/90s really resonated with South Dallas, and Armstead, Daryl Jones, and Kevin Williams all left a legacy.

You've been beating the Dallas/Texas drum for as long as I can recall, going back 2 or 3 message boards.

If, and it's still a big if, we flip this kid our way, that will help refocus efforts in both directions.

As much as we want our coaches to be scouring potential hotbeds like this, a lot of times they do rely on local coaches to be pushing their kids to the university as well.

LETS recap: he removed his committed status on social media and removed any pro Texas info as well. We’re the only out of state school he visited. He’s been retweeting Brevin Jordan info. Finally he told Texas he’d visit this weekend and he didn’t show up.
Very interesting. Their mod still thinks he signs with Texas.

DeSoto puts out 5+ FBS athletes yearly. Amazing that they only won their first state championship a couple seasons ago. That whole area of Oak Cliff, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, has great athletes.

This is the most fun of the remaining recruitments because it's so unexpected. If he comes it will be awesome but if not then it won't disappoint me

They're not nearly as delusional as your typical SEC school cultist but they'd also still be saying "I think he still ends up in Austin".......5 mins after the kid sends his fax into Hecht and ESPN announces the commitment.

Their mod might think that or he might not. Texas mods are like Gary Ferman clones and they’ll say whatever they think will make the fans happy.

I’ve been saying we should keep recruiting the state of Texas.

Someone send Donnell Bennett out to Texas to "watch over" this kid until NSD.

Random, but couple days ago I saw Charles Pharms (remember that name?) retweet an article about Richt going on his in-home visit with Coburn. Dunno if he's lives there now, but he's from Houston as well. Maybe he could lend an ear.

We've had quite a few from the Houston area, ever since Jimmy Johnson started coaching at the U in '84.

Last major Texas recruiter we had was Butch.

Coker actually signed Reggie Youngblood and Dedrick Epps, both were 5*s from TX. He signed Eric Winston too from that state
