ETSU's AD has gotten into some kind of trend of hiring former vols - Brought in Fulmer for the 1st HC search that landed Carl Torbush, Randy Sanders was a Tennessee Icon QB/long time QB coach/coordinator, the basketball coach was an assistant at UT, and there's more.

It's a pre-requisite for him until proven otherwise
South Carolina OC Marcus Satterfield (no relation to Scott), is a name that would be perfect for the job as well.

He’s a former ETSU player & he’s coached at Chattanooga, UT Martin, Tenn Tech & was a GA at Tenn under Fulmer.

Dabo refuses to go external to the program for anything - I hope it sinks him.

We're officially going to be far and away the highest paid assistant coaching staff in the ACC - by probably $1M

LOL at promoting an off-field assistant to DC. I find it hard to believe he expects that work and to even halfway duplicate what they just lost... the best DC in college football. There's no way you're not expecting Clemson to drop off if you're a fan, right? That's sad for a team that had $4.6M tied up in coordinators ($2.5 for one guy) in 2021 and now they're going to be paying $2.5 total for 2 coordinators and a co-coordinator.

Brandon Streeter you can somewhat justify because he’s at least been an OC & play caller before from his stints at Liberty & Richmond under Danny Rocco & has been in Clemson for 7 years, so he’s at least been there on the ground level of their Championship runs. I personally would hire a big time OC to pair with Cade Klubnik, but I could see how he would give Streeter his shot...

But Wes Goodwin as DC is a really questionable move as the replacement for Venables, especially since he’s never called plays before as a DC, he’s said to be a video analytics “Mastermind” according to the Clemson board, they credit him as being the Venables secret weapon for all theses years, but to go from never calling plays & not even being a position coach to being a DC is a really huge jump & one that rarely ever happens at P5 schools.

That kinda move would be more apt at a FCS program, but a Playoff/Championship contender is very risky to hand over the Defense to someone who’s that inexperienced. He’s been an Analyst for 13 years, but still, he’s skipping a ton of steps before getting the full-time DC gig at a place like Clemson.

Even if he were being groomed to be Venables successor, put him at LB’s coach for two years & then hand it over to him lol...
