Coaches starting to blow the whistle on st.Thomas

Problem with what you're saying is, a lot of the kids that transfer to STA already have attention from colleges. They already have offers.

STA is taking studs as transfers. They're not taking kids that need exposure.

We've lost several kids to STA. (for whatever reason, STA rapes the Davie area)
I haven't seen a single one of them get additional offers than what they already had with us.

I don't necessarily disagree with your post, the issue is, it's not always the parents/kids who are making these decisions on their own. They're being manipulated.

Yes because STA makes money off of home game attendance.

LOL

Now parents aren't really "adults" when it comes to STA. They're manipulated. You sound so butthurt it's not even funny.

How about this? Since this is such a widespread "issue" where is the lobbying for a rule change since STA comprises what percentage of the high-schools in Broward. **** this coulda been changed 50 years ago but the reality is it ain't that big an issue at all.

The butthurt is so palpable.

Ok guy.

Can I really have an opinion on this matter without sounding butthurt to guys like yourself? Of course not.

I'm just saying what a lot of guys think. I guess we're all butthurt. I guess I should just be totally cool with losing my best players to a well-off private school who recruits kids that we develop. Just be cool with that, so I don't sound butthurt. LOL

I mean if it mattered that much perhaps you and the rest of the gang would do something in real life as opposed to, ohh I don't know, ****ting on a school on a message board?

You're right though. You develop the finished product and STA just reaps the benefits.

The butthurt level is expanding exponentially.

Please start threads about NW, BTW, Central, Heritage and the rest if the gang while you're at it. **** Southridge probably has 15-20 kids going D1.

SMFH

Uh, how am I ****ting on the school? I actually threw a couple compliments in my original post. All I'm doing is talking about the subject at hand like everybody else is and giving my perspective.

I'm too busy coaching kids who wanna be here to worry about "doing something in real life". I'm busy doing what I was hired to do, make kids better. I can promise you that I'm not butthurt at all. I don't even coach in Broward County anymore.

I'm not gonna start any threads about any school, d!ckhead, I didn't start this one. All I've done was give my 2 cents. I should've remembered the status quo around here and known that some fa99ot who has no relevance in the situation would chime in and call me "butthurt".

Well I do have relevance to the situation when amongst the backhanded commentary you feel like sliding in STA is "manipulating kids" and parents to go there which is absurd. Another zinger "they take the kids we develop". Yawn

Again stay butthurt and act "too busy" to do anything about it. If it was that important you would. Plain and simple. If it was affecting you and the rest of the gang you would do something about it because STA is just one school and it really ain't that important is it?

Nope it ain't obviously. You're "too busy".

Everyone recruits. Even Ransom "recruited" in the 90s. Palmer-Trinity and Miami Country Day did too. Gulliver started a whole other campus just to recruit athletes. Before that they had a remedial program. STA just does it on a whole other level. Is it fair? Depends on what fair is. In New Orleans they have a "Catholic League." That's basically the private schools. They recruit and only play among themselves (for the most part).

Standard.

Butthurt = the Venice fans who accuse STA of exploiting blacks kids because their all white undefeated team got blown out

What I'm saying is an objective point of view. Stop nitpicking tidbits from my previous posts and calling it butthhurt. It is what is it. I speak the truth. I gave compliments as well as showed some understanding of the situation.

Fools like you call it "butthurt" cause you're on the outside. You have no relevance to the situation. You don't coach, you just get to watch Friday nights and talk **** from the bleachers. It's easy to call people butthurt from that vantage point cause, again, it's all irrelevant to you.

"I'm too busy".

That's all I needed to hear.

Enjoy the irrelevance off internet complaining because in real life you don't give a **** about it enough for it to change.

LOL @ nitpicking don't say it in the first place and your own verbiage won't be used against you. Great you're a highschool coach......AND? That prohibits others from calling bull**** on idiocy? Ok sure.

The Catholic schools in MA have been recruiting forever and they play in their own conference aptly named "the Catholic Conference." No one wants to play the Catholic Conference schools because they regularly kick everyone's *** in pretty much every sport. This is not a new phenomenon and it is not only happening in South Florida.

Massive recruiting in HS football is GARBAGE. Save that **** for college. It creates divas by turning children into hot commodities way too young and also turns kids into meal tickets way too early in life.

Just go to the school in your area. And if you choose to go to a private school, then you need to do what the other families who send kids there do.

If private schools are allowed to recruit, then they need to only play against other schools that openly recruit like they do. Or they could do something where they put limits on it. Maybe let schools recruit 2 or 3 guys per season. But that **** that STA does is straight garbage.

What the **** is a diva exactly, and who are these so called divas? Why do so many people call these kids divas? Do you know how much work these KIDS put in to be as good as they are? Sounds like a few of you who throw that diva word around might really want to call them another word that is something a tad bit different.

Yeah a kid who has scholarships to some of the top football powerhouses in the country, and has been grinding away at his craft since he was eight or nine years old is a diva? Seems legit.

Its really not that hard to understand how entitled and arrogent SOME KIDS become without really doing ****.

Everyone works hard. Some are humble about.

See Sam Bruce. Diva status confirmed. Smoke it up homie. Well done. Arrested a week after being kicked out? Yessir. NFG BABY

In my mind, high school and college football are getting too big, and there's too much money at stake. At some point, I think the system needs to shift away from the current model and move toward a similar system as major junior hockey in Canada (16-20 year olds). There's a draft, the players still must go to school (but without the farce of calling them 'student athletes'), they can be drafted into the pros and, if they aren't ready, sent back to their junior teams, with the pro team still holding their rights. The teams themselves are run like pro teams, are for-profit, players can be traded, and players not drafted to the pros or deemed 'not ready' can still go back and play at the university level when they get too old (although not in the US because they're no longer considered amateurs...but seriously, a lot of these elite high school and college players aren't really 'amateurs' either). Kids who are late bloomers or not considered 'elite' or good enough for major junior always have the option of playing at the university level.

I know that won't be a popular option for the St. Thomas' and Bamas of the football world, but it makes the most sense to me. Prepare them for the pros without having the ridiculous limitations of the 'rules' and everyone doing everything they can circumvent those rules.

You and HulkaCaniac need to go back to tormenting DBC.

Nah dude, those days are over for me. Tormenting DBC is so 2010.

Macho, do you think STA develops players at all?

I think they're well-coached.

They used to have the stigma of sending kids to D1 who never produce but I think that's changed. There used to be more Jalani Hamiltons coming out of STA and less Joey Bosas.

How do you tell if they're developing kids though? So many of their kids have only been with them for a short time.
