this entire post is worthless if you didn't also happen to mention that they were playing with "temple talent".. their competition wasn't top flight, but neither was their roster.

i'm pretty sure temple had talent. we keep talking about the guys golden recruited at temple who became early draft picks.

He had 2 guys who became early draft picks. What about the other 9 guys they had to play?

Scheme has nothing to do with performance or recruiting and those spewing that BS are delusional...

All of you keep talking about poor DT recruiting but none of you know what we have at DT right now. Some claim they aren't Miami material? How do you know? Based on last year? Everybody thought the haul of Ivery, Moore, and Brisett was world class. Now they're scrubs because they didn't develop as true freshmen? And let's not forget Robinson, Porter, Pierre might just be studs this season. What about King? Is he no good because you experts say so? DT has plenty of numbers and I trust this staff picked these kids up because they are Miami material and plan on developing them into just that.

Uh...scheme has a ton to do with recruiting...and that I know is a 100% fact.

And nobody is complaining about our current DT's. We're talking about the fact that Miami has had trouble signing big-name DT's. They've been able to sign big-name LB's, CB's and Safetys but no big-name DT's.

A) They're not used to playing in that scheme and they don't prefer it
B) We're not losing South FLA D-linemen to that type of scheme. We're losing them to teams who let their D-linemen play aggressive.

How does Chick at one DE spot & Green opposite him with Porter & OP at DT resemble a 3 man front?! Some of you need to stop hating already. And even if we did run a 3-4 do you not realize that the best D in the NFL.......the SF 49er's employ that style of D?

And as far as the notion of Donofrio's D at Temple only being able to work there cause of the competition they faced.....it's all relative you fools! Those were the same offenses that torched them prior to his tenure there which he then shutdown!

Wow!! He all mad, I get the sense that he has a wrestling background, this one. He went all Degeneration X here. But he does point out valid points, all this talk of 3-4 is coming from where? All we've ran is 4-3. And the Temple point is spot on, it is relative every one fails to ever point out that before Golden and D'Onofrio those same weakling MAC teams were lighting up Temple prior to their arrival. And also as for the D, when Porter came back the final 4 games our run D was much much more improved and it also coincided with Pierre's much improved play the final 4 games as well. And also of note Porter was nowhere near full strength when he returned from the appendectomy.
