You’re not going to. They don’t have to post it (nor does any temple, church, Scientologist, etc). Similarly, most state schools do not have to post this stuff. Taking UGA for example... they do not have to post for the general school. However, the University of Georgia Athletics Association is not a government entity and does have to post their 990s. You can find all of them on guidestar.com with a free sign up.
Since UM is private, all of our financial information is readily available, with the only info redacted being who contributes to the school. That is provided to the government but not on the public disclosure forms.
Churches do not file 990s, so none of that is available to the public. It is also why you won’t find Salvation Army’s financials. Imagine the uproar if the IRS was auditing church information in the current political climate. That’s why it is an easy method for moving money.
Thanks for the info man. Sounds pretty full proof. Funny you mention the Salvation Army because in one of the articles I read there is a direct quote From perry noble and a guest speaker comparing themselves to the Salvation Army. read this cult ****:
In a Sept. 1 sermon at the Anderson campus, guest speaker Robert Morris said NewSpring's members have a unique opportunity to make a contribution that will enrich their lives. Morris is the founding senior pastor of Gateway Church, a multisite church based about 25 miles northeast of Dallas.
"You will determine the size of the miracle that is about to happen to you during the Step Up campaign," Morris said.
Noble discussed the campaign's financial focus in last week's interview. He pointed out that the Salvation Army has a $3 billion annual budget and "nobody is mad about that."
"People talk about churches and money," he said. "At the end of the day, a church is a nonprofit; and a church, just like the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society, has to have money not just to survive but to accomplish the mission for which it is intended."
I didn’t know the mission was to make po dunk Clemson into the best team in college football. Is there any way to put pressure on these churches to tell us how money is distributed? Sounds like the only way this ends is by someone getting mad like nevin Shapiro.
