Cj Henderson speed at RB look like Dalvin speed-RB possible?

Old school Canes were get all the talent and speed you can on defense, move it toward the LOS and then move extras over to offense. Sapp was TE, Eddie Brown was a DB. Image this kid with a pick in his hands once or twice in big FSU game. If we are going to play old school aggressive attacking Cane defense, we need speed in secondary to keep big plays down to 20 yards instead of TDs.

What you say is true Gatorhater no question we need speed at CB. My take though is that there is no place in the country that produces as many CBs and skill position players generally as does south Florida and therefore you put the ball in Henderson's hands as often as possible. Taking your same example, imagine the damage he could do if he gets to the second level or out in space against FSU? Again, the first four or five minutes of his highlights are of him scoring TDs and making some the toughest talent in the country look silly. I really think many Canes - not you because clearly you've seen his film - are under estimating just how good he is because he's already committed to us. If he were not committed I think more Canes would be talking about what a dynamic offensive talent he is and lamenting even the thought of yet another talented back heading from SF to north Florida.

I'm not against it and I've seen his film I just believe with the backs we're recruiting he won't necessarily need to play both sides...I would love for him to returns kicks though and depending if we get in on more CB's would love the idea of him being a WR...but as of now he's a Much needed CB

I have nothing against speed and playmakers on offensive at all. It is just that great defense helps make great offense and turnovers have historically been huge in Cane games. CB is harder to play than RB. Any kid can play CB should be considered for it first.

He's potentially Phillip Buchanon on defense. Just another small fast guy on offense though.

Wouldn't he be the fastest guy on our roster from day one, ahead of 4 recruiting classes ahead of him?

Idk why more coaches don't utilize electric athletes both ways more. Get kids like that the ball 3-5 times a game if they can handle it mentally.

He's much more than just another fast guy on offense. By that logic, he'd be just another fast guy on defense. The question was never about him being just another guy with speed either on offense or defense, it's about where to put a player with elite playmaking ability. My vote remains to keep him on offense for the reasons I've already stated, but mainly because our recruiting base is overrun with CBs.

Hard to argue against creating turnovers, but his film doesn't show him creating turnovers, at least not to the same extent as it shows him scoring TDs from all over the field. In any case, this will work itself out. Either way, we end up with an elite playmaker.

What I saw in those HUDL clips was an explosive, elite playmaker. OP is certainly not crazy. Henderson shows elite vision, explosion, cutting ability and breakaway speed. It's a great problem to have but I lean towards putting him at CB because of our dreadful talent level and depth there to go along with the fact that there are offensive skill guys all over South Florida. That and if you have the opportunity to add such a dynamic and electrifying playmaker to the secondary especially at CB, you jump on it!

Recruit the kid at CB and offer him the opportunity to touch the ball 3-5 times a game on offense in addition to returning punts and kickoffs. It's absolutely crucial that we hold on to him. Kid has a chance to be special and this is the type of talent that should liter our secondary every year. I agree with one of the previous posters who spoke of filling the defense with kids like this first. If we want to run an aggressive type of defense we need players like this. College football offenses have grown completely out of control. It would be poetic justice for Miami to be the program that resurrects suffocating defense.

Listen when I started this thread I thought I was in the minority about putting him on offense. Cause he just looks too **** dangerous not to have the ball in his hands 8 times a game. He plays CB but we also give him 6-8 touches a game to be the home run hitter. His highlights as a "junior" is outright scary as a RB!!! If he reaches 2nd level of secondary he is gone. If he breaks a tackle on perimeter or we get a good block by the WR on the edge- he is gone. His "junior" year highlight tape at RB is amazing. He's got two more years of growth and training before he becomes a Hurricane. He would be a dynamic RB in college and give Richt the home run speed he speaks of us lacking. My vote is he definitely touches ball 8 times a game. Harbaugh is giving Peppers the same opportunity and it's a smart move. Should also help recruiting him that he knows he's gonna impact the offense as well. Recruits like that title of playing both ways. He runs by elite talent and pulls away like they are standing still. What a WEAPON he becomes on offense. Screens, swing passes that isolate him in open field against a LB make this a no brainier. He was much more impressive as a RB then anyone else I've seen on our team now and the recruits we are bringing in. Hand him the ball CMR 8 times a game. He will break some big runs, and certainly pop some home runs.

If we can land 2 solid CB's in this 2017 class, there is no reason not to include CJ Henderson as a potential RB. His highlight tape is esxclusively of him running by DB's like they are standing still. Plus with Frierson coming the next year, getting CJ Henderson the ball on offense would be ideal. I haven't seen a HS RB run by defenders like that since Dalvin Cook. It needs to strongly be considered. And that was only his junior year highlight tape. Imagine him with 2 more off seasons to train before his Miami freshmen campaign. Could be elite RB.

I know that DEfense wins champs......but if we get a Marco Wilson and brini or a few other guys we are after- why not consider it? At the very least he's gotta touch ball 6-8 times a game. Runs like Devin Hester used to run by people.

Cook was about 20lbs heavier in hs.....FSU Rasul is the same size 5'11 195 with elite speed....edged Henderson by a step in the sate finals....we need Henderson to stay slim his frame isn't built to add bulk....IMO....we already have Homer coming in with elite speed.....add Burns, Felix or McFarland and the backfield is complete...Henderson runs kinda high like Gray it would be a waste to try him at rb....IMO...we need kids like Henderson, Young and Finlay in the secondary to prevent a back like Rasul from taking it to the house.

If he's that fast, he'll pick off passes, and you'll get to see him run like Devin Hester.

Lol you know Devin Hester was a DB when he played here right?

I'm confused...since when is 11.16 secs in the 100m Elite Speed? Amir Rasul's fastest times were in his Sophomore yr when he was 20 lbs lighter. I think there was alot of hype with him early, but he never produced. This is a S Fla RB who never rushed for 1K yds during his HS career....
