So, we are again hiring a first-time head coach (whom Duke passed over for that position) instead of a proven head coach…..

I hope he becomes our coach K but it feels like we settled-again……

I'm not arguing that Lucas will be great.... I'm simply saying he was never in the running for the Duke job. Scheyer played there, coached there... He's the golden boy of Durham for Christ sake

That hiring a guy who was a successful recruiter at elite institutions with no HC experience is extremely risky?

To be clear, Mario was a much better hire than Lucas would be - for a lot of nuanced reasons. But Mario is also a great example of a superstar recruiter vastly underperforming as a HC… so it’s surprising that Miami would go with a guy who’s best accomplishments are recruiting for schools that sell themselves.
