While I agree his upside is somewhat limited at RB due to his lack of explosiveness he probably has a better shot at RB THIS SEASON then he would at cb or safety(fs being where I think his best shot long term is) his problem is he doesn't have the explosiveness for cb or RB & as of now he doesn't have the physicality or the top end speed for free. He's a prototypical tweener as of right now. But what he's got in spades is a competitive drive and he's a flat out ball player. Reminds me of DJ Dallas or Henry parrish in that sense
I know about his competitiveness and drive to be better, heard from some boys on the team...which is why I think he'd make a better corner outside of the physical traits not being there for a back.

Anybody can get some snaps at RB if we are honest. But, Id like the man to make that good money and he's just more likely to make more of this sport at CB...your recommendation of FS is interesting but havent really watched The Heather man's defense yet. Maybe not this year (but maybe...whole room is flipped for the most part...get in there and fight now. Go have better reps than Ryan Mack and Antoine and Ewald or whatever right now.). And if you say FS...even a quicker ascent to the top with good consistent reps while he's learning.

DJD is a large human. Henry Parrish is smol (you wont find a bigger HP supporter than me...got the lightning bolt tattoo on my dome n everything). One is making that bread in the league. The other...I doubt it. Maybe a little?

Dawg, University of Miami should have pro backs. Look like pros. Play like pros. Idk.

What is the upside for him? RB4? Specials?

But that + trait is that competitiveness...that should play or aspire to higher than RB4 before transferring out because he just wants to play.

Maybe I'm an ******* and he's gonna be a dawg this year.

BTW, Fletcher and Martinez looked really beaten up in the fourth Q vs ISU, likely why Lyles took the carries near the goal line. Why else would you not use your power backs in a crucial short yardage situation?

Anybody know how he's coming along?
Right now he's our #4 rb. I loved his HS film. Very explosive, though some said his competition was weak.
We certainly need at least 4 rbs. Didn't we lose 2 in '22 or '23?
He was one of the better RB's last spring and I expect him to do the same this spring. Will he play this year? Not sure but the kid is talented.

Kid has real speed but he's very small to be an every down back at the P4 level. He better be excellent at blocking and receiving to carve out a real role here. Will be interesting to see how he does this spring + summer.

CWH probably won't play much RB here. All of our lightweight running backs just left...in part because we don't really use them. Go play corner if you want to play here.

OK but if it's a matter of "wanting to play", why would someone who wants to play, why would he be 4th or 5th string? And if it's someone who is not going to play much, what's wrong with CWH then?

Seems to me explosiveness is THE only thing we wouldn't be worried at RB with him. It's the size and physicality that's the issue.

Was Martinez beat up? I just figured it's because many of the departing starters weren't in by that point.

Perhaps but we just needed him for one or two more plays. Plus I'm just going on what he looked like when he came off the field that last time.

Martinez has been relatively healthy his whole college career. Fletcher not so much. If Fletcher stays healthy I believe it will
Be his first full offseason of working and developing. Hopefully that’s the case, bc regardless if we get a RB1 or not, still need one for depth purpose, it’s time for him to take that next step.

I was thinking the same thing he's very small had thin build like CJ last year

he has better visiona nd running abilities than cj imo.

He played pretty good last spring and im expecting some development this year. depending how those guys look in the spring should be how we play it before we grab a portal back. Just like we brought in Martinez late.
