Chris Peterson to UW

From the espn article:

"Petersen pursued the USC job and met with athletic director Pat Haden in Boise on Sunday morning. But Haden decided to hire Washington coach Steve Sarkisian, which set in motion Petersen's move to Seattle."

So it sounds like USC chose Sark over Petersen. It will be fun to monitor the progress of both programs over the next few years.

What else should he say?

Peterson looks like an moron right now. He's turned down better jobs over the last 3 years that he was the favorite to land if he had expressed interest in them. He road out Boise too long. He should have realized that his best years were behind him there when K. Moore, those stud WRs and Doug Martin left.

Washington not a terrible job, but he could have had almost any job he's wanted over the years. **** wasn't he one of the top choices for the Canes' job?

Why is everyone so sure that saban will leave alabama? He's built an absolute beast over there why would he eave everything to rebuild. I'm sure Bama would match the money numbers Texas would put up, and Saban's wife already said she did not want to leave.

Nice hire by Washington I always though Petersen and TCU's Gary Patterson deserved top notch jobs. Look out for Patterson to be in consideration for the Texas job if it opens

i thought that job already belongs to sabanito

Because for Saban it's all about the journey and the hunt and history. He only cares about his personal legacy not the legacy of the location. At Bama he will never pass Bear Bryant anyways. But if he could lead 3 teams to title, I don't think Bear ever did that. Saban also has an uncanny sense from when his run is about to end.
No matter how hard you work and fight it. the longer you stay at a place coaches and players eventually get stale and complacency sets in. --Freshmen come in after watching you win titles thinking that championships and championship appearances are a given.
-Fans expectations become so unrealistic they go beyond simple "Cane-Fan delusion" for example many bama fans will expect them to win a national title next year even though they'll be breaking in a new starting QB for the first time in 3 years. And what if that kid struggles? Misses a few throws, cost them a game or 2 simply due to lack of experience. McCarron may not get a lot of pub as a great breaker but after watching Jacory and Morris, I have a lot of respect for a QB who can keep the chains moving when needed and protect the football at all times.

Petersen loves him some pacnw. The depressing city in the world though?

Seattle a great city! Been there many times. He will do well there

Made a mistake giving this post a like. ''As for the rest of Seattle's days, we average 226 cloudy days (4th most in the U.S.) and 81 partly cloudy days. Of all those days, we get 155 days of rain a year (we've had 97 so far this year.) ''

I'd rather put a bullet in my head than live there, lol. Truth! I have spent a month in that area in Aug, just happened to be nice half of the time. Beautiful coast line in Olympic NP and mountains close by. Great to visit, never to live there.

+rep coming your ay. There is a helluva lot of truth in that post.

Peterson walks into a much better situation at UW than Sarkisian did when he took that job. Sarkisian had to put out Tyrone's dumpster fire, and at least stabilized the program.
