Chris Curry

Def see Curry getting on the field early as a FB freshman. Obviously not a permanent position but could be use my his cousin was back in the day.

Yeah I'm starting to change my opinion on curry a few days ago I posted this thread but I have to admit I watched the first 2 and a half minutes of his highlight tape. The past day or 2 I rewatched it and towards the end he posted some long runs and looked to have some pretty good speed for a big back. I'd take him as a combo running back/fullback and use him like Najeh Davenport here

I'm actually impressed with the majority of the posters here liking him, most here just **** over guys 40's or great top end. Then miss all the other important attributes of a rb.

Top end is just the cherry on the sundae , not the actual ice cream.

Exactly.

Lingard
Curry

We are good with Homer and whomever. Guys might transfer. Alvin Kamara type might come our way.

Exactly

Y'all realize that as it stands right now, we will likely only have 2 RBs in 2018? Walton goes to the league we have a Jr in Homer and Lingard. We definitely need 3

Some of these dudes don't realize how numbers work and how awful the rb situation is for 18. Three will be in this class , regardless if the third is a juco or transfer.

Oh and one of the few rb's we do have is injury prone and barely played in hs.

If we take 3 the 3rd one has to be a transfer and added after nsd. By doing that you make it easier for schools to negatively recruit you. Oh they bringing in 2 other running backs including you too? come out to our class we have no one committed. Schools would eat that sh*t up

The Canes should be trying to recruit kids who say I'm better than those 2 other backs so go tell that **** to them and get out of my face. No back should be concerned about sharing carries, it benefits them in the long run i.e. Pro career. Let the Tennessees of the world pitch that to our recruits. They'll end up with the soft ones...my $0.02.

Go Canes!

Lynch didn't have elite speed but he "ran through defenders faces" over and over...... Curry runs through people much like the backs Bama has over and over...combine that with great Defense you control and win most of if not all your games

Those guys all ran away from people in high school though...

Maybe not for the 3*s but the elites think the same. Look at FSU at running back. Bama at WR and DL ( with a 5* gray shirting). Do you think any of those guys are concerned about depth charts?

Not sure what decade it is or social media has to do with not being afraid of competition or thinking/believing you're the best at something. You either do or you don't. I want the kids that do to be Canes and they can tweet about it all they want.

Go Canes!

This is just strictly about numbers. No big time program carries only 3 backs at a time. We would be just one injury away from a full on catastrophe. If the kids can't handle having multiple kids committed at the same time then that's not our guy. We have our bell cow

So Curry wasn't running away from people on those 4 or 5 touchdown runs of over 50 yards?

He is trying to imply that kids these days want the job handed to them and are more afraid of competiton than they were in the 80s.

I'd take Curry and keep Jalen Patterson as the 2 other backs this cycle. Lingard is the workhorse, Curry is the change of pace thumper with speed, and Patterson is the third down Eric Metcalf scatback.

Dude breaks tackles, and I want that in a back. I don't care if he runs a 5.3 40, as long as he's moving the pile and getting yards consistently. He runs HARD, and he's got good size. Someone mentioned once that he got caught from behind... Big freaking deal. That just means he was man enough to get past the big uglies. You won't hear me cry about a 220 pound RB getting caught from behind after a 40 yard run. Odds are it was his strength, vision, and running ability that got him in the position to get 40, where a smaller, faster back would get tackled sooner because they didn't break the initial tackle. Speed is not the end all be all for backs. Curry has enough speed to play the position well, and the power to breaks tackles and get tough, extra yards. He's a perfect compliment to Lingard as far as I'm concerned.

He getting 7 and 6 yards runs and putting them on a highlight tape... albeit he broke tackles to get it

Dude seriously? You can't see what people see in this kid? He's a potential smash you in the mouth between the tackles monster.

Kid runs extremely hard.... just can't picture him playing for Miami...Davis is the perfect apb to compliment Lingard in this class.

If you´re looking for a third down Eric Metcalf scatback, you´d be stupid to pass Johnny Ford.
