Chickillo as a DT?

I realize he slid inside on passing downs quite a bit this year, but could he add enough wait to move inside permanently?

Kid is one of my favorites on the team and I love his energy and motor but he just doesn't have a lot explosiveness coming off the edge. We have Bond now, hopefully a bulked up and more effective McCord, plus some other young guys, can Chickillo be more productive as a DT? I realize we still have some depth issues at DE, just thought I would ask the question anyway.

He can easily get to 285 and be a gap shooting DT. He's quick and explosive for a DT, but he's neither as a DE.

Is he a legit 6-4-265? He doesn't look that big.

He's probably not. I never trust those stated sizes. For instance, in the last media guide, my peen is listed at 12" in length and 10" in circumference, and those are about an inch off. I'd suspect Chick is probably 6'3 and 260. He's very capable of getting to 285 if he trains and eats like a fiend.

He's probably not. I never trust those stated sizes. For instance, in the last media guide, my peen is listed at 12" in length and 10" in circumference, and those are about an inch off. I'd suspect Chick is probably 6'3 and 260. He's very capable of getting to 285 if he trains and eats like a fiend.

Can millimeters be that far off?

He would be an undersized DT. He needs to get better at DE in a hurry.

The part that sucks is he should be a redhsirt sophmore next year, unfortunately dude was our best option at DE as a freshman. Wish he would've had time to develop a little more and bulk up before he was needed. He seems to have lost explosiveness as he has gained more weight which makes me believe a move inside could benefit him. I could also see him being better suited as a 3-4 DE and could play that role if we go to more 3-4 looks next year.

Yezzir. Either way, he's going to have to be 285 to be effective inside in a 4-3 or outside as a DE in a 3-4. I still like the dude and wish he wasn't forced into action on the DL as a true freshmans. If your program is right, a true freshmans should never have to play on the DL unless he's a rare physical freak like Clowney.
