Chaney hurt again

Somebody’s got to be the *******, so I guess that somebody is me.

Not Chaney’s fault he got hurt and lord knows, I feel bad for the kid.

At the same time, durability matters, especially for a RB. This kid has NFL skills, but the league will care and think he lacks durability. Even though it’s not his fault. His body just isn’t built for it. Some people get hurt more easily than others. The league will care, and it will matter for him and his future paydays. Sucks but it’s facts.

I’m glad an asshòle (your words) like you wasn’t around after Gore blew out his second knee while still a cane.

That’s why I find the jokes and laughing at it kinda gross. I have a good friend who was legit Darren SproIes clone. 5’9 ( tad taller ) 200 , legit 4.4 and a absolute weight room freak. He kept having freakish injuries in HS to the point it broke his spirit. He just walked away. The guy who eventually took his spot had a ten year Nfl career. And was nowhere near as talented. Nobody tries to get hurt and it doesn’t mean you’re soft. It’s just how things happen some times.

When I heard the DC news yesterday my heart dropped. He was coming on strong and was starting to distinguish himself as the guy. Just like last year smh.
****kkkkk

This has been happening to a bunch of teams all across the country. It’s a huge catch 22 because on one hand you can’t go into the season not having had any full contact, but it sure is enticing to do so when you run the risk of losing major contributors to your team.

To your point:

"He looked so much better than he did last year, the way he was moving," defensive end Jack Sawyer told reporters Tuesday in Columbus. "The only part of sports that I hate is injuries. I just feel so bad for him."
Pryor's injury leaves Ohio State with only three healthy scholarship running backs in Henderson, Williams and incoming freshman Dallan Hayden, an ESPN four-star recruit.

Unfortunately Chaney may end up on a long "What if?" list of Canes that were highly rated and showed they were talented but could never stay healthy enough to truly prove it.

RB is a position where this kind of thing happens frequently and guys bounce back nowadays. I can relate this to the Gophers - who went in with 4-5 decent backs last year and the clear cut front runner - Ibrahim went down week 1 last year and next guy up puts up 1000 yards and Ibrahim is now in like his 6th year and will be the premier back again this year. It actually helped in that it got the other guys good experience and especially if you have a decent OL - maybe rooster or Parrish do so well this year and one goes pro and it opens up more burn for the Don next year.

This is sounding like last year, our RB room is deep, whoops...injuries. I just wonder which CB or WR or safety has experience at RB? I got pounded for suggesting last year we needed a portal RB especially the one from BC. Also suggested it in another post this year.
Jordan Miller on deck?

Any chance Jaccuri can play RB like a Denard Robinson?

It's funny how all the bickering of the RB room and order, has sorted itself out before the season even began smh
Anyone with an eye for football already knew Rooster is the most talented back on the team. I hope Chaney gets well soon but even when he has been well, he hasn’t shown much for all the hype. Rooster carried the load at like 180 soaking wet over half of last year. Him Parrish and Thad should be more than fine and hopefully get Gattis out of his comfort zone of running heavy. I’m very skeptical of what he is willing and capable of running offensively and he has a big talent at QB.

Well according to dmoney and others last year in camp chaney had separated from rooster and cam and was the clear cut best back

I think about Brevin. How much money he lost due to injuries and perception of frailty when he was here

The best ability in football is availability. I wish Chaney a speedy recovery, but it does appear some guys are more injury prone than others. The Gore situation was really a miracle in how he became so durable in the pros. I will say he changed his running style and became less explosive after his second ACL injury. But most injury prone guys don’t become Gore’s. We need more RB’s.
