Chance Robinson commits to Miami

I know and a lot of times I do it but usually it’ll be a thread where it’s the last few pages. This derail starts on page 4 and now we’re on page 16. That’s nuts.

News flash! I just completed a comprehensive analysis of Hayes’ commitment art and can say, WE NEED TO CALM DOWN. There are numerous shots of kids committing to UGa and it’s stadium is 75% full. There are shots of Oregon with empty end zones. There are several stadiums with large open areas. I will say he has done some of Hard Rock from the outside showing the cool roof and the ocean behind it. Paradise!

This is an opportunity. If we as a fan base have some cool views either of the stadium, area, city, or campus, we should send them to him. We should like, follow, and share his stuff On Twitter. Make him think we are the coolest fans ever. Then he just might give us the friend’s treatment.

There it is. Put much less lazily than I did. Thanks.

There is no bias to this IMO. He's about the kids and the art and it doesn't go much deeper. I don't even think supporting him or sharing his stuff will make a difference in our direction btw. His indifference is legit and cuts both ways. I really don't think he's that aware of the stuff hardcore CFB fans would notice. He probably cares more about the architecture than the crowd to be honest lol.

Because this is an article thread a 2.0 would not be appropriate. Because the derail runs deep, deletion would be too much work.

What is both appropriate and less work is to simply thread ban anyone who brings up this Hayes Fawcett nerd, stadium pics, or commit edits on a going forward basis. That said, you are all free to get a new thread going on that topic.

Does this stadium look empty?

Robinson took an OV to UF over the weekend. Here are some short clips from his interview with their 247 reporter:

Outside of Miami, the school to which he remains verbally committed, Robinson has the Gators next on his list of potential schools.

"I mean, there's other schools, one other school, but here and Miami is really just where I can see myself at," Robinson said, "if I'm being honest, yeah."

"This class is special, as you see right now. They've got a quarterback (DJ Lagway) commit as well. We could come in, work hard together, make something special happen," Robinson said. "So, it's just that as well."

It's given Robinson much to think about before he makes his final decision, and he anticipates returning to UF for an unofficial visit before the summer is in the books. First, however, he'll return to Miami for an official visit for the June 23rd weekend.

"It's definitely opened my mind up to new things, seeing new things," Robinson said. "I just really have to sit down and make a decision of where I want to truly play at. These are verbal commits, but, you know, I can say Miami's still a part of my home, and this could be home.

"Definitely I got to go home and talk to my parents on where I want to really, really be, as far as my situation, as far as quarterback situation, as far as schools."

Sounds like UF pitch was come play with Lagway vs Miami has no qb of the future. I'm sure UF didn't have much to say about NIL though lol bunch of brokies.

yea, that QB comment jumped out at me.... I know he and Judd were supposedly working together to recruit. Not sure where that is now...
Of all schools stealing a WR commit from us UF is the least of my concerns considering they had a trash offense last year plus the Rashada NiL flop. Put a respectable product on the field and Ufag has 0...........Chance

Seems Judd isn’t moving the needle for receivers. And this kid seems mildly committed

This world where we recruit raw 3* guys that are years away and bank on the transfer portal is going to be an obstacle to recruiting we have to overcome every year if that’s actually going to be the strategy.

You can’t sell the 3* guy to big time players. And you can’t sell the promise of transfer QB you don’t even know will exist. “Some big time dude will enter the portal. And I promise you, we will sign him. I just don’t know who he is yet.” I’d roll my eyes at that sales pitch to it I was a recruit.

Mario is an elite enough recruiter to overcome the eye roll. But it will be there, and will need to be overcome.
