Chaminade-Madonna

Think rocko the meter head coach should take that job that school is set up to have success.

Chaminade is not set up for success at all. They made half empty promises to the kids and Coach Moose. Chaminade is a broke school. That's why this happened. They were gonna put a whole bunch of kids on the football team on financial aid and now the principal dropped the bomb on Coach Moose and said they can't do it anymore. That's why he resigned. That all the kids gonna have to pay full tuition, they strung along coach Moose and the kids. I talked with two of their kids a year ago and asked why kids didn't want to go there anymore and it's because of the money with the school, and now it's happening again. Chaminade does it to theirselves.

As a private school, you need to fork out the scholarships to be a great team and they don't want to do it.

Chaminade trying to save face by hiring the old Hallandale coach but it won't work. All the kids are already looking into where they're gonna go. It's not that they don't want to go there, it's the money. Not all these kids can afford that.

Lot of the kids trying to transfer to USchool.

I know I mentioned I expect Shivers to end up at STA. And yes Xavier is transferring too, I expect STA for him as well. Keep an eye on Columbus and USchool as dark horses. Columbus has chaminades old QB and USchool might get Colombi back. Would watch out for Flanagan too with him. We'll see.

and yes the 2019 stud safety Keontra Smith is transferring as well.

American Heritage and Cardinal Gibbons are also in play for a lot of the kids leaving Chaminade. Expect a mass exodus these next couple days.

Edit: Flanagan can be another landing spot

Geo305 for those of us out of state, can you explain how, if at all, this will impact our recruitment of any of our targets who are leaving C-M?

These transfers are getting out of control. Coaches are trying to build super teams as opposed to just developing the kids they have. Its high school. My goodness be a coach. St. Thomas is like 6 deep with D1 wideouts...

sucks when you cant buy the best players...

State needs to move to separate public from private schools... 2 leagues..

Sun Sentinel

Jason Milgrom resigns at Chaminade-Madonna; Dameon Jones to take over - Sun Sentinel

"“Throughout my long journey in coaching, I have come to the realization that it is time to move on,” said Milgrom in a statement. “There is never a good time to walk away and this is the prime definition of that. However, I was unable to comprehend some decisions and the thought process on the future of the program."

“I could not willingly and knowingly promote something anymore that I was not sold on.”

"The timing of the resignation could create a sudden, chaotic flurry of transfers with camp starting tomorrow. According to FHSAA rules, once a player has participated with a team in practice, they are ineligible to play for any other team during the season."

very informative post--thank you...I have heard others in the South Florida area are nearing a similar financial situation...regular students parents are having to pick up increasing tuition and all sorts of fees making it necessary to leave that school(s). There is a Palm Beach Post article in the not too distant past where Oxbridge is 150k for 4 years there -when books, other charges, meals, etc. are added up The Koch brothers that founded it can afford the schollies as they are multi-billionaires other schools are not in that financial position.

Props to Milgrom for bolting before the kids got forced to stay there without him. Had they started camp they'd be fcked.

Friend works for the Division of State and Federal Compliance for Education and the transfers in the recent years is growing big time for many of these private schools as parents cannot afford the regular tuition for the non athlete student. The ever increasing Charter Schools that are primarily academic and almost FREE are becoming a popular landing place as parents enter the lottery system to get into those schools.

This kid looks lethal. Burst and looks to run tough, lowered his shoulder in a few of those and trucked the defender. Is he high on the Canes?

Go Canes!

This year he has the 2nd fastest time in he nation for a sophomore at 200m--21.13 and the 9th fastest time in the nation at 100m for a sophomore--10.47.

This is extremely unfortunate for the school, kids and coaches. Milogram finally had the program back to where it should be and they were poised to break out. Chaminade football will be dead and I suspect the school will soon follow.

Damm I ant know Chaminade was rocking like that. This reminds me of what happened with the uschool a few years ago.

They're having a team meeting today. Let's see what happens. The problem is not the kids, it's the school.

So they all came back to practice today but haven't heard of any solution yet. This kind of throws a wrench in their eligibility this year, since they practiced today, they won't be able to transfer to another team(Well, they can but they won't be eligible to play). Let's see what happens, I don't see how the principal just figured it out in 24 hours.
