CFP Quarterfinals: Texas vs Arizona State

Good no-targeting call.

Watching in slow motion I thought was bit of a cheap shot on the WR. In real time I think the DB did the smart thing and body checked the WR rather than draw the penalty by lowering his head and shoulder. Good play.
Actually looked like safety was trying to turn away, and caught him with the shoulder. Their paths were inevitably crossing in tracking the football. Can't legislate contact out of the game. That's football. It took a few years, but finally this rule is by-and-large being enforced sensibly.

Maybe....maybe not. Hard to tell how he would do from todays game. I think most QBs would benefit behind our OL. 21 completions for 196 yards. Take out the pass to the RB. 20 completions for 134 yards.
Not sure what everyone has been watching with Leavitt. He's certainly athletic and a good decision-maker, but he is far from a finished product as a passer.

He's also very young, so I can understand there is upside.

Yes.

Took this long to finally see a decent game in this whole ridiculous thing.
dude, there are blowout games in every level of football in the post season, no matter the format. the game doesn't have to come down to the last second to be worthy. Boise St showed up and played last night, call it a blowout if you wish but they were not outclassed just outplayed. 4-1 turnover ratio

Clean, hard hit. No foul.

The product has been watered down in an attempt to do something bigger than what was necessary.
