Call me crazy but I think it took Cook about 10 steps to break down on the left sideline before cutting to the right. There aren't many productive college RBs that are stiff with bad feet. Cook could either become Darren McFadden or a huge bust imo.

Ok so now one play dictates a career. Got it

Forget about him balling against big time SoFla talent. He's damaged goods. Future bust. Stay Away.

Ain't none of these boys gonna end up being better than Collins

I've seen em all play this year and it's tough to say that because they are all different grades. At the moment collins is the best but from seeing even how a guy like gore transitioned from running to the sticks his sophomore year, to juking past everyone his junior year to just straight beast moding dade county football period as a senior. There is a lot of growth in game, confidence, etc...

Main reason I said a guy like cook would've benefitted playing at a different school because he is relatively young in the fact he had only 100 carries his sophmore year and stood on the sideline most of the game. He will continue to grow and get better. He will be a different player next year.

Even a guy like Sony runs different this year than even his freshman year, you can see he is still tentative on his knee which is expected, he seems to have the best all around talent though so we will see.

I t is just exciting to know that guys like Collins, cook, Sony, Jordan Scarlett, all our top talents and all have the ability to be an elite rb at um..

Jakhari Gore was once the best back in Dade. Where is he now? Should we offer Darius Tice and Daryl Chestnut too?

Appreciate the sarcasm though. Nice constructive post (see - I can do it too).

Who said anything about 1 play? That play I mentioned is just 1 of many examples of Cook's inability to transition smoothly between cuts. Having home-run speed and explosion is nice but backs rarely get opportunities to run straight through a hole untouched at the college level. You need to be able to make sudden changes of direction to elude defenders and break big runs at any level above high school.

I had high hopes for this site early on but now it's just become like every other Canes site...littered with homers and +1 posters who jump on anyone who says anything critical about a Cane recruit, especially one from Dade county. I guess people had to go somewhere when CT and CS imploded. All I see now are sarcastic posts that add no value to the discussion. If this site continues to trend this way I'll just stop posting, because clearly the hivemind can't handle opposing viewpoints and rational debates.

Please, Jakhari Gore had the size and frame of Hello Kitty. Dude weighs about 110 lbs.

Cook transitions out of his cuts just fine in this video:

Not sure what more you want from a 16 or 17 year old RB. Kid has a great combination of size and speed as a junior. He's gonna be even more of a beast by this time next year.

And quit being so dam sensitive. Its a football site full of passionate Canes fans. No one directly insulted you, champ.

Those kids see who we have coming in, and the nice freshman class that just came in. Add a few more top kids from the south and we will be off and running again. The kids Fl state is getting were not even offered by Miami. We have a small class this year, so we are limited to go after the best kids we can find. That article was worse than pathetic! Mom knows best, the much better school is right in their own back yard and it's not even close.

Manny said Yearby is the best.

That is to be expected from an FSU sympathizer.

I'm still irritated about that article

Besides the videos that discredited everything he said...I agree

He gave his opinion, and he voiced his reasons for that opinion in a well-mannered way. I don't care if I agree with him or not, he's one of the few solid posters on the football/recruiting board.

So i made a joke so anything I say on here isnt quality, he made a long argument with good grammar and hes a quality poster? He would be a quality poster because he knows what he's talking(havent really seen him post so i am unaware) about but theres many examples that discredit his claim. Regardless, i said something sarcastic because I thought it was funny he was saying the kid was either darren mcfadden or bust and he's not even finished with his junior football season. Take the comment however you like though

Off topic, but Jakhari is short, but strong as ****

Cook can't cut? Somebody should've told Manatee's defense:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4T0BwvSdTP0

He's not a finished product yet, but the upside is obvious.

He can make sharp cuts in a phone booth just fine (as shown in that video and others) but he struggles when he has to break down coming out of a sprint. Most of the top speed backs I can remember (Bush, Charles, CJ2K, Spiller, etc.) don't have this problem. I'm not denying the upside of a kid who's built like some of the LBs we've recruited in recent years AND has elite speed, but I am questioning whether he has the footwork and quicks to utilize that speed at the next level. No doubt he'd be a great kick returner though, assuming he runs north-south every time.

I saw Jakhari at 24 hour fitness years ago when he was a senior at Columbus. Real short and skinny but when he shook my hand i knew what time it was. Naturally strong kid. Down as **** too.

I agree with CaneLB 100%...Is he fast and explosive yes... I just dont see a great RB.. HE might be good for a read option guy.. But he is nowhere the running back Duke is or Collins. I usually agree with PEte posts but he is wrong on this one. You cant be right all the time. Yearby albeit slower has better change of direction and runs more fluid and can stop and start on a dime better than Cook. How it transitions to college **** im no expert..but i saw the same thing last year as this year..COok looks like a track guy playing RB. Yearby looks like a RB

I was all in on the Yearby bandwagon last year and into this season. After seeing Cook twice this year, ill take him all day
