At this point I don’t expect him in this class.

All attention has been turned to flipping hanks and DJP.

Also maybe the USC kid.

I hadn’t seen any news of him in Knoxville until this thread. I only saw that we were positioned for Zelus Hicks who is gonna reclassify and it was one or the other?

Honestly I think Merritt is probably not going to be in this class. Him playing mostly QB and not CB apparently isn't helping. It's also not going to be likely if we do end up getting Hanks/Pickett/Anding. The more of those top guys we get the more he will look at that logjam of recruits and then look at UTenn and see where he has an easier road to starting early...

I just hope if we miss on Hanks and Pickett that we can keep him. Cause him and Antoine are a good top 2 CBs, and then you have Ewald and Carter in the nickel role... Definitely a step up from DB recruiting last year.

he played qb his jr year as well. Antoine does the same. Thats not a reason.

When he committed to us Tenn was the closest rival...they are having a good szn and recruiting just like us.

We would be lucky to hold on to Merritt Physically he would be the best db we sign i believe. He can line up at safety or corner here

Thought people have been saying specifically that he hasn’t been playing as much Cb BECAUSE he has to start at QB, (and implying maybe that could impact his quality of senior film in the snaps he does see there)…
I think THE reason he wouldn’t end up here is simply if we get Pickett, Hanks, Antoine that’s a lot of elite talent coming in at once

When I saw them play he lined up at safety. With his size I think that’s where he ends up. No Diddy, dude was good looking safety. When he was in at qb it was mostly wildcat QB
