CB Emmanuel Karnley commits to Miami

I don't understand this take.

What other corners on other teams let fan perspectives impact their performance? It’s a sign of a mentally weak player. What other fanbase doesn’t bash their players that play badly?

If he was only "confident" when people were gassing him up, then he was never confident.

Reading this thread and knowing the absolutely undefeated track record of this place, I feel confident in saying this kid will be a high level starter for us at some point.
If it goes as well as all the mopes last offseason with their “Dawson is terrible and Mario will force us to run 40 times a game and ruin Ward”, we might actually win that elusive 6th ring this year

Other than the 2 MariBro CIS experts who told us DBs don't win or lose you football games, this place was spot on that the secondary was hot garbage and not adequately addressed
the entire fanbase knew the secondary sucked balls I guess except the slurpers. guesss what cost us the season?

the biggest surprise to me was the DL

I thought the DBs would be the weak link of the team and they were still my biggest surprise. They were that bad. I don’t even blame the DL that much, it was disappointing but I’d bet our opponents time to throw had to be one of the lowest in the country because the opposing QBs first read was wide open approximately 114% of the time.

I’m still in shock over that Syracuse game. McCord had harder practices against air than he did that day.

Cam completed 69% of his passes for 9.7 YPA, 2 TDs and 0 INTs and was clearly outplayed. That’s almost impressive by our defense.

72% completions for 10.6 per and 3 TDs LMAOOOOOOOO. You ******* losers.

247 rates him as a 4 star. I honestly don't like their transfer rankings on a lot of these portal kids. I'm not against Karnley coming here but he's a 3 star.

Their top 10 QB rankings last year was a joke. 1. Aiden Chiles (LMAO) 2. Dante Moore (back up) 3. Cam Ward 4. Brock Vanagriff (eww)) 5. Maalik Murphy (gross) 6. Will Howard 7. Riley Leonard 8. Austin Mack (who?) 9. Jaden Rashada (smh) 10. Dequan Finn 11. Dillion Gabriel. This 247 list is a joke and they go heavy on potential. Lets be real the real list is 1. Cam Ward 2-4 Dillion Gabriel, Will Howard and Riley Leonard in no order. Everybody else was after those guys. Kyle McCord had a big season. Big surprise was Eli Holstein

I studied his Texas Tech and Colorado games and was pleasantly surprised. He's much better than I expected him to be.

Long, can change direction for a guy his size. Decent speed (bit of a long strider). Had some trouble finding the ball, but even on a couple of plays he gave up against Colorado WR's singled up he had his arm there at the catch point or was contesting the ball.

Not sure if I'll write him up fully (especially given the mood seems to be down on the kid). But I do know that Michigan's staff REALLY wanted this kid (per their beat writer) and that he was much better than #1 on film, who was supposed to be their stud and an NFL draft pick. Arizona staff seemed to know #23 was their best guy because they played their defense that way and he was a freshman in football eligibility.

Played on kick block, punt return (outside blocker), gunner on punt coverage, covered kicks.

Maybe there are some games out there that someone can link me to where he was dog sausage so I can see all the negative stuff?

Telling you Karnley gotta be one of bigger differences between CIS perception and the outside among realistic portal targets. Clearly some top programs are evaluating him decently highly, and clearly he's got pretty prototypical length and I don't think Speed is a concern at all with him..
True but if @Memnon says that he is nothing more than a projection pickup based on physical attributes and that nothing in his film points to him being anymore than that then I must defer to the 🐐. That doesn't mean that Karnley won't develop into a very good player. It just means that outside of his measurables, he hasn't proven anything yet.

DJ Ivey getting his feelings hurt by Cane fans while he hurts the feelings of Cane fans is some real hurt people hurt people ****.

I hope Jaden Harris' heart hurts right now for what he put me through.
For real…we hyped him up so much last year and to say he was a disappointment is the understatement of the century.

And this is where fans get frustrated…like if we can see this why can’t the guys that get paid millions of dollars see it?

Let’s see who’s right but I go back to some old threads and posters on here have been right far too many times.

And thats the problem. People are A) acting like the staff views it differently and B) that a RS FR with 3 years of elligibility, great length, supposedly good athleticism, and that other top programs also are hard after is a waste of a pickup and just more incompetence by the staff.

.... Of course that ignores that we have Brantley and Poyser, have clearly been trying to and likely will get Lucas, are still hard after O'Conner from WSU, and who knows if we're still trying to get another Safety and even still another pure nickel! IMO clearly the staffs plan was to treat Karnley just like Broussard at OT - who we also extended an offer to in the portal.

I'm not saying he's going to be good. However I do know people acting like it's a foregone conclusion that he's a bad take are wrong. Scholarships are supposed to be up 20 spots, and it's looking like he's going to be CB3 at best JUST in terms of portal additions lol. You have OJ, Damari, Dyoni, Richard, Mack redshirted, and then multiple freshman..... A lot more talent in the CB room exiting this spring portal period than anyone thought we had heading into summer practices for this season....
