Carson Beck vs Quinn Ewers

Beck BY FAR

Beck is a way better processor, way more accurate, way better at reading defenses.

Ewers is literally a system qb that needs his hand held, since sark is great he has won in spite of him and made him look good. If he gets drafted its a miracle.

People pay more attention to ewers because they look at qb wins and stats on the paper. Ewers didn’t have near the amount of responsibilities that beck had, he is tvd if he was a 5 star

In SEC play, he had 12 TDs vs 12 INTs. I would expect him to be better than that but he is going to disappoint so many homer fans. I would anticipate a 3,500 yds/ 30 TD/ 10 INT type season

3,500 30 and 10 would have been the best season by a QB in 30 years up until Cam.
 
considering beck has identical stats to TVD, ewers.

but ewers would have to be brain damaged to not go pro.... this QB class is weak AF. after cam 0 qbs would go in the 1st based on abilities.

Yep. He’s not even close to Cam and that should not be the grading curve.

But it’s going to be a significantly bumpier ride. Beck is not spectacular. Cam was. I’ve never been so calm and on cruise control when the offense was on the field until Cam.

Beck can have a great year, but I saw him play and coming into this season I didn’t understand the hype around him. It’s easy to perform with the best of everything around you.

My hope is he benefits from a better competitive situation. But it’s clearly going to be a bumpier ride

Something else to add is the UGA WRs are garbage. So many drops.

If you are saying these two likely NFL draft picks(Whether this year or next) are mid college QBs, then you either don't understand what you are watching, or are being willfully obtuse. Are either of these guys Cam? Of course not, but even when Miami signed Cam, most of us didn't think he would end up a Top 5 pick after one season in Coral Gables. Cam is a unique talent that was able to leverage the talent around him to have a generational season.

Beck or Ewers would likely put up good numbers(For them) in the same system, but they wouldn't be Cam, because no one is. Miami needs a solid QB, that can elevate the young, talented, but somewhat unproven WR room. Both of these guys can do that, especially considering that they will have top end OL play in front of them. Miami needs a bridge to Nickel, and both of these guys can do that. I'll take Beck, because he's on the market NOW, and the difference between Ewers and Beck is miniscule. Beck, with Nickel as the understudy is fine with me. If Emory wants to stick around and compete, so be it, but I've seen enough of the young man to realize that he's an inspirational leader, a good locker room guy, but not starter material.

The obvious answer is Ewers, but I think we’re asking the wrong question. We should be asking, “Would we rather have a guy who’s played in a TON of big games and was a projected first round pick going into this season…or Emory Williams?” The answer is a no-brainer. Plus, don’t discount the Beck effect. There might be some portal entries from current playoff teams or in the spring window that see this and are much more inclined to join us now than before.

I'd rather have Mendoza a few weeks ago for a few mil less along with the receiver(s) we wouldn't have missed out on by playing Russian Roulette and a few other good players who could then be acquired with the money saved at qb.

Beck has 10 pounds and 2 inches on Ewers. I can't find any stats on their reach, but I'd bet Beck has a longer reach. Any chance we can see a video of them sparring?
 
Injury aside, I think Beck is better than Ewers. Beck had turnover issues but he also makes plays. Ewers is whatever the next step up from “game manager” is. Either would be an improvement over what we have and i think we could win with either. Ewers needs more help from his teammates and running game to be successful though, in my often wrong opinion.
 
i choose Beck for these reasons;


1. Experience and Development: Beck may have more experience in a specific system, showing greater consistency and poise under pressure.


2. Decision-Making: Beck could be seen as better at reading defenses, avoiding turnovers, or managing the game effectively.


3. Team Success: Beck plays for Georgia, a team with a proven system, elite talent, and recent championship success. These are important as Miami has a great OL and runnings backs which will highlight his skills when WR are added fron the portal


4. Style of Play: Depending on what you’re evaluating (e.g., arm strength, accuracy, mobility), Beck might excel in certain aspects compared to Ewers. Plus Dawson will help him acclimate to our system quickly. Seems smart and was Mr. football in FL


5. Injuries or Setbacks: Beck had a huge injury but by all accounts he will be fine

Other miscellaneous characteristics he played 2 successful seasons as starting QB, in the SEC, recorded a 24-2 record, playes against Alabama, Tenn, Ole Miss, Texas in a high anxiety environement, and the statistics are off the charts.

Hidden characteristic, with his girlfriend at The U the man will be a happy camper!

Although Ewers has a higher ceiling, Beck is a tried and winning QB who has been coached by the best!

I'm slightly exaggerating based on the QB play we watched this year bro lol.. I agree w/ u Ewers and Beck can be solid in College if surrounded by good/great talent but neither of them are special QBs in my opinion, I guess the word MID is a lil strong for some, and just because a QB will get drafted doesnt make them NOT mid in college, Anthony Richards was MID n was a top pick, we just watched two QBs stink up the joint last night n im pretty sure both will get drafted especially Allar whos slightly worse then MID in my eyes.
