Carson Beck commits to Miami

The Beck to TVD comparisons are crazy so I'm not gonna touch that.

But to argue TVD is not a P4 caliber starter is not a good argument. And to compare that to Emory is even worse.

TVD went into a season having won the starting job 3 times and two different teams. He is absolutely a starting caliber QB. Is he a championship worthy QB? No. But there are hundreds of QBs that never win the job that you never even see play...those are the definition on not a starting caliber player.

Emory never won a starting job. He took over for an injured QB.
Beck to TVD comparisons are in fact crazy but nobody made those, unless I missed it.

@ me next time, bruv.

Not only does TVD stink...but he's a dented can and what's between the ears is well past the expiration date.

If he starts for you in the P4 he's the worst QB in the conference and actively loses you games and you're getting fired.

Luke Fickell took a shot and look at him now. Dudes a team killer.

Here’s where I’m at.

Miami with Beck, no new transfer portalers, and 2024 defense performance = 6-7 wins. But that will not happen. So I don’t understand why we keep thinking Beck needs to be the ******* messiah.

Miami with Beck, no new transfers and the current defensive roster, which I believe is capable of playing to 2023 defense levels (which was meh) = 8-9 wins

Increase the win expectations by + 2 if we bring in a top quartile ACC level WR, Safety, LB and DT … which we will.
I don’t know that we win 6 games next season if the defense is 2024 level bad. Not that I expect it to be, just saying. We were a **** of a lot closer to 6-7 wins this year with the best offense in the country than we ever should have been.

TVD's year starting here that was bad, he still had a higher passer rating than Several starting QBs in America, including the QB in the national title game right now (Will Howard).

And with respect to Fickell TVD got hurt so bad argument.

Last thing I want to do is defend TVD, so just back off the the hyperbole and we can all agree that TVD isn't a great option at QB.

If anyone's looking to make some easy money, I've been told by some of the brightest minds on CIS that Mateer and/or Mendoza are way better than Beck, so bet accordingly.

Interesting. That new Oregon RB Makhi Hughes is a tasty option for odds because Dante Moore is likely going to be very average they may lean on him heavily.

Sorry, but putting PSU's QB as a serious Heisman contender is immediately self-disqualifying. I don't mean to hate on the young man and I guess you can say that he's "Gritty" but I would literally rather start Luke Nickel and take my chances over Allar. I mean, did whoever created this watch their last game when they played a D with a pulse? He can scramble and get a few yards, but he is NOTHING special.

Not to mention several of their WR just transferred

If you think TVD is the worst P4 Qb then you don't watch much college football

TrumpyCane wants to know how TVD killed Wisconin, he was 2-0 as a starter, left the Bama game at 0-0 when he got injured

His vaunted 6.3ypa (edit, its actually 6.2, my b) last year against the likes of WMU and South Dakota would have been 2nd worst in B1G, worst in the ACC, 2nd worst in the SEC, and dead last in the Big12.

The TVD that you may falsely remember being a modicum of good for like a couple of games died a long time ago. His brain is broke, his leg is broken, most of his body has been put together with bubble gum and toothpicks and he just stinks. I'm not sure what to tell you, Trumpy, but he's terrible at this point and isn't a P4 QB. The fact that he's an injury flyer lotto ticket for his old coach should tell you everything you need to know.

He's not a leader at the QB position and a problem in the locker room. His presence has been a net negative at his last two stops.

Maybe Rhett Lashlee can get something out of him when he's 26 years old, I guess.

He didn’t kill Wisconsin, but the writing was on the wall. You could see he hadn’t overcome any of his issues from before.
He did look pretty bad against Bama and then he got hurt. JS.

there's nothing to be learned from TVD at Wisconsin . Kid literally had a cup of coffee and got hurt.

After his awful stretch of GT, UVA, NC State his last 2 starts he went:

24/39 327 1TD 0 INT
23/36 290 2 TDs 0 INTs

Both against bowl eligible teams

Look TrumpyCane isn't saying he's good or can be good again but after watching the likes of Brock Van Griff, Colandrea, any Houston QB, I can name a bunch more but TVD is 10x the Qb of those scrubs

Those are mediocre, unimpressive numbers. Look at Xavier Restrepo's numbers in those games. Anybody can throw to Xavier Restrepo. X does all the work.

The BC game - we ran 40 times for 242 with most of our scores in that blowout came via Fletch and Parrish and Ajay Allen.

We ended up losing to Louisville, but that was a Mark Fletcher game. (Least) Favorite part of that Louisville game was watching how futile we were on offense with him. Game on the line, just lost the lead, and to even kick a field goal to tie it up in the fourth, we just run with Fletch. Last drive of the game, a pass interference gets us down in the redzone to tie the game.

Just another day at the office.

For real, we can stop talking about this bum. If you simply don't think he's an absolute bum and can play for some P4 team. Cool. I don't think so. He was frustrating enough when he had a little dece run as a backup that became the starter...nevermind now. Just not a guy.
