No expert here but I can read. Just answering your statement that Ruiz had nothing to do with NIL. Maybe not right at this moment, but Haley Cavinder is still on the roster and plays for the Canes . Just sayin’

He currently is not involved with NIL deals. Cavinder deal with lifewallet ended a while ago if I’m not mistaken. Ruiz’s reputation has taken a huge hit as of late and the allegations against him haven’t helped.

I do not think he closer to TVD than Cam.

That is not to say he is close to Cam. Cam is built different. Going to be R1P1 to R1P5 player. Won the Davey O'Brien Award and was truly the best overall player in CFB last year (fight me).

But TVD is not a P4 QB at all. He's not even a P4 starter. Sorry...he's not. He wasn't when he was here either. Nice backup that got hot for a little bit here and then everyone thought he was good when he was a one read merchant. Rambo, Restrepo and Mallory. Meh he's sub-Maiava, for comparison on the scale. He's also someone that didn't do what he needed to do to be a QB1 in the P4 (his golf excursions and lack of commitment to getting reps with all of his WRs being noted here before - just wasn't a leader like that). Also sees ghosts.

Beck isn't Cam, but TVD? lmfao. Stop.

See, I'm all on board for questioning Beck's ceiling. I'm all on board for saying there's going to be a drop off in 2025. But this s***.....this is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy.

TVD had four games over his entire career at Miami that were even remotely noteworthy, and that is using a very liberal definition of "noteworthy". Likely the highlight of his entire career is a home win over a 5-7 Texas A&M squad. Let that sink in and jog your memory of the TVD era.

Regarding Beck, first off, 2023 happened. I know a lot of you contrarians like to act like 2023 is some fan fiction people made up to feel better about Beck but it happened. The Dude beat 5 top 20 teams (4 in the top 10) and went 1304 yards 9 TDs and 1 INT against them. SEC teams. And even in 2024, outside of that bad stretch, he played two playoff teams and went 625 4 TDs and 0 INTs.

If you think TVD could have ever accomplished any of that, at any point in his career, then you're crazy. Beck is much, much closer to Ward than he is to TVD because TVD sucked.

You morph the convo from me saying he is closer to TVD than Cam into me saying he is TVD, which I did not say. I think he is somewhere in the middle but closer to TVD. Lastly, I think you dogged TVD too much in that post because his time here scarred all of us. He is 100% a P4 QB.

No I didn't. I just said he's not even close to TVD because TVD isn't a P4 starter. He's going to be a senior and he's going to be a backup. He's not a P4 starting QB. Backup? ok.

We won 7 games with TVD in 23 which should have been 8. I think we can win 10 with Beck. With Cam we would be undefeated. Also, yeah 23 happened for Beck and so did 21 for TVD. I think because how things ended with TVD, which I don’t think was all his fault, people now think he is utter trash which I don’t agree with. Problem with TVD was that he was built up too fast here and then it was an ugly parting.

TVD tore his ACL last year and at the time was the starter for Wiscy. He started 3 years at Miami as well. Yet you maintain he somehow isn’t a P4 starter. History outright shows a different story.

there are plenty of players that start in the P4, not all of them are P4 quality starting quarterbacks.

Emory Williams isn't a P4 starting QB either, and he's started games. TVD, too. He's going to be a 24 year old backup for his old offensive coordinator instead of working for TopGolf and the guy we took is likely the highest paid transfer QB from a national title contending team.

These two players are not the same.

I'd have accepted a Beck -> Kaaya comparison over TVD. TVD stinks.
