Carson Beck commits to Miami

Unpopular take:

Some of y'all got the memory of a goldfish.

Why are we resigned to the fact that Beck will be such an obvious step down from Ward? As recently as 6 months ago it seems like plenty of smart people were ready to draft Beck higher than Ward.

I LOVED every second of Cam Ward, but Beck is just as if not more physically gifted than Ward. Could he be a step down? Of course. But if he is healthy, improves his decision-making and limits the turnovers, there is no reason why he can't replicate what Ward did this season.

Ward went from undrafted to projected No. 1 overall. Beck, with an arm injury, is still projected as a Top 3-4 round pick. There is no meaningful tools or talent drop off from Ward to Beck in my opinion.

D$ talks about that on the live show today. Taken a bit out of context.

He was saying he watches film but doesn't like "watching" on the couch because hes always breaking down from an analytical standpoint.

It's like a trained musician saying they cant hear music the way everyone else does because they're constantly analyzing.

There are tons of pro athletes that don't pay much attention to their sport. My best friend growing up who played baseball at Miami barely knew anything about baseball. He liked to fish and hunt but the mother f*cker could throw a ball fast. You can love the game and also want to get away from it as well. I am sure it's taken out of context as well.
Actually the majority of guys dont watch. If they’re not playing they decompress from it

I can see that as a pitcher, QB is much more complex lol but someone else said it was taken out of context also maybe that’s the case

I don't think Beck is as gifted physically as Ward at all. I do however think that Beck may give us some things that Cam did not. Cam gave us the excitement, the big plays, using his legs to extend plays and all the flash. Beck will not do those things, but where Cam often struggled was not taking the easy stuff underneath and forcing some truly head scratching turnovers. There were tons of drives this year killed by a turnover/incompletion when a simple check down could have kept the sticks moving. I expect Beck to do very well there and that could make for another very dangerous, albeit different looking, offense this year as well.

I may be misremembering but I’m pretty sure Ronaldo doesn’t watch soccer lol

Who cares if its $2M or $4M .... we have the money to spend.
The best part about it not being 4 million is people thinking it’s 4 million

Knowing we are a school that will take care of these players financially is far and away #1 for recruits right now

Remember people trying to talk **** that we were essentially compensating our employees well?

Did he though? I thought he just said that he enjoyed playing defensive back more than RB but played RB because that’s what got him to the league?
