This. He's started using more underneath stuff lately but still no creativity. Motions alone would help the run game by holding the de, then play off the motions. I'm also shocked we don't use more pump in go's off all the 100 bubble screens we ran. That wound stealing , teams fly down hill on the bubbles because they don't respect the pump in go.

Bro, when you put your defense on the field for 90% of the first half, the other team's offense will pick up yards. Game should have been in the bag by half time but we have a one point lead on a 1-7 team missing 22 players and playing 3rd string qb.

We are ranked 50th in the nation in total defense, having played ZERO top 25 teams. Stop making excuses. The 2003 team was on the field a lot and was top 3 FBS in every category possible. THAT is the standard.

Fair point. Our defense is not elite right now. But they get the job done most of the time.

This is a terrible UNC team. They aren't a team that runs 90 plays or run the triple option.. It a basic terrible ACC team what is the excuse for being manhandled up front by a depleted UNC team? UNC almost has 300 yards and 100 yards rushing in 1 half. Where is our Physicality of a team like (at the very least) Wisconsin or Michigan State? Year 2 under Gus and crew and we can't get any push with former 4 star O-linemen.

Agreed, and the problem with Malik is he's a 1-2 read guy. Completely neglects half of the field and focuses on 2 receivers, which should not be a thing for a redshirt junior.

What does the ranking of the team have to do with the ranking of the offensive unit when speaking on defensive stats?

I don't doubt I could teach quite a few things about football to the majority of the board. But clearly i was referencing the other poster talking about football knowledge. But hey way to come to the rescue, there is strength in numbers and all that
