The fact that we ran the ball twice instead of throwing it with only one timeout and 50 seconds is bad clock management. Also, we didn't use that timeout right away after the first run — it looked like we lost 5 to 8 seconds before Richt used it. Just not going to cut it.

? We ran for over 30 yards and got to the 20. BCU was expecting pass and Homer ripped them for some big yards. Almost broke one too. Not sure what you wanted there. And we did use the TO right after the 1st run not sure where you saw a 5 to 8 second lost but maybe I missed something.

We're lucky the run worked. You have to take some shots down the field, in my opinion.

? Did you watch OSU vs. Indiana or Washington vs. Rutgers? Every team has struggles in game 1. Way too early for this noise. Talk to me after FSU. We'll know everything we need to know by then

Bcc not even The same atmosphere as Indiana, Rutgers. If this first half doesn't disturb you then when fsu puts 50 on our *** will. I remember blind *** fans saying the same **** when golden was coaching when we struggled against bcc how did those results play out?

Never said they were. What I said was everyone has their struggles in game one. And for all of our "struggles" we have a 24-6 lead on 5 offensive drives. The secondary has been picked apart, but let's see what happens after the half. FSU isn't putting 50 on us and MR is not the same as Al Golden.

Ark State has had some lethal offenses over recent years. We better get the secondary stuff fixed

This defense looks nothing like the one we saw the previous 5 games. This has nothing to do with new secondary. The front seven looks like al Golden defense. Special team coverage is poor. Need to stop hiring green coaches

Few first half thoughts...

Owens seems to just have lost IT due to the injury..Looks just a step slow almost every time I notice him

Kickoff unit just seems slow down the field

Homer is SOLID

I hope this is just first game jitters for Delaney, number 17 seems to be able to get away from him at will

I think this QB for Bethune will give us some good looks at what Francois may do in week 3

Exactly, drive was fine. Lot of people are overreacting. That 1st quarter seems to have the vast majority of the board shook.

In game #2 of last year, Clemson defeated Troy 30-24
Also last year, Alabama had a high powered offense when they faced off against the daunted Chattanooga defense...31 points scored (won 31-3)

BCU has players playing in front of their family and friends just like Miami does, this game is personal for them and a chance to look good against an elite team. Stop pretending the world is falling because we're not up 40-0 at half time.

I think this is the first football game some of the porsters here have ever watched.

I think the Pass D will definitely improve as the season carries on. I just hope they aren't making dumb mistakes by the FSU game.
OL needs to clean up the penalties.
Walton is balling. Going to have a great year.
Rosier Is playing solid after a kinda rough start. Hopefully he'll clean up the short throws like screens so the WR can seamlessly catch and run.
Not really looking forward to seeing too much Langham this year. Sorry, but I don't magically think he transformed into a Starting caliber ACC Wr.

My only concerns so far are Delaney and Rosier. Not sure that long pass happens against a good CB. I think for the most part people are overreacting. The defense just wants to hit people so they've over pursued on some play fakes and countered. They'll be okay.

The Bad:
Rosier looking so-so. Hoping he picks it up in 2nd half, i think he will
D-Line didn't dominate at all
Linebacker play so-so (looking at you owens and mccloud)
Didnt see great WR separation

The Ugly:
Delaney getting worked.
D overall
Kick-off coverage
Penalities smh

I think we'll be fine. Just working out some kinks, but not the dominating performance we all expected...

Do you think that the fact that they haven't played a football game in about 8 months might have something to do with needing to shake off some rust?
